Could you bring Sally along?
Hi Pippa,
I'm based in Wymondham. I'm driving to Birmingham on the Monday but unfortunately I have a Specsavers seminar at the ICC in Birmingham city on the Tuesday so can't make Simons lecture, but I'm going to go to Rob's on the Wednesday and will then be driving home after so I could always drop you wherever you are staying on the Monday and obviously you could grab a lift back. As its a work trip I have to make I'll be claiming the petrol anyway!!
Let me know if that's of any use to you.
Regards
Richard

Hi Richard sorry for late reply but yes yes yes please!
I can drive myself but a bit nervy on long journeys so if you don't mind a dippy blonde balloonatic in the car with you I would be very very thankful x
Hi Pippa,
No problem at all. I'll appreciate the company. I've sent you a private message on here with my mobile number so we can arrange thinks without having to kept checking the forum.
Richard
This event is next week, I'm sure it will be another good one :)
Booking details are here, http://www.balloonartwholesale.co.uk/ba ... hare-days/ (http://www.balloonartwholesale.co.uk/balloons/care-share-days/)
Still looking to find someone to attend as my guest if anyone would like to suggest a name or two.
Save me a seat!
Hello everyone, Just to let you know, 1 of my sessions is going to be about photographing your balloons and I'm going to be throwing loads of information in your direction so it might be handy to bring a notebook and pen :D
Is it OK if I bring a quill and parchment paper with me?
I'm not used to all these new fangled up to date things like pen and paper.

I expected you to bring a lump of rock and chisel?
As its been St David's day today (happy St David's day to all our Welsh members BTW) I have spent the day working on my Night Fury design ready for next week. Anyone know what a Night Fury is? :D
Just back from a couple of excellent days, Simon was great with his single loop twist technique.
Rob had some great advice on photography and how he slightly cheats with photoshop.
and we had a bonus with Olivia training our voices, a fun and funny 15 minutes.
So thank you to all who attended and made the days what they are, FABULOUS
Thanks to all who brought nibbles and helped keep the venue tidy and to carry the shop out. THANK YOU.
I will try to post a few pictures tomorrow but pretty busy as we are having another big build on Friday.
I will try to get a few pictures step by step.
Im just home after a fantastic few days away. Thanks to everyone who came along and supported both me and Simon. Also a HUGE thanks to Graham and Lyn for all your hard work in making these days happen.
Anyone who attended and who wants the PDF notes for the sculptures I made can you email me or message me on facebook and I will get them to you asap. The only thing missing from the notes is Toothless the Dragon BUT I will be doing a video or notes for that in the near future so I will let you know about that asap.
Also I have the Magic Trick images if you want them
and finally the images to make the little Princess/character booklet
All of the above is for attendees only so if you were not there then please don't go asking.
My email is robbieaibm@gmail.com
A few pictures, I think next time I will keep my new banner further to the side, it's too much blatant advertising for my liking.
I like a little more discreet, sorry about that.
Simon started to explain his loop technique, in session one it was his one loop technique.
Looks like you all had a great time. I'm really gutted I didn't manage to make it, but the dates clashed with my normal day job and I just can't get the time away. Will look forward to seeing all the pics.
The looped car.
More looped cars, some had extra loops added. Then the loops turned into a gun.
Then to the helicopter.
Everyone with their car.
A few other designs that Simon shared with everyone.
More from Simon and session one.
Had such a brilliant time during these 2 lectures and the jams that followed and really.... the whole 2 days from start to end.... Thank you Graham, Simon, Rob and everyone who attended for making it the fabulous 2 event it was. Looking forward to the next one!

Glad you had a nice time Ine, I enjoyed the days, but always do. More pictures.
Some variations, that is what is good about the days. Many add a little detail here and there and then other ideas grow from them.
Evolving I think is the word.
Simon showing the Owl design.
More Owls.
Owls and a frog.
I believe these are from session two from the day.
More Owls, they seemed to be pretty popular.
Dan managed to get superman to fly.
Roger looking very pleased with his frog.
Looks like everyone had a fab time. Such a shame it's such a trek for me to come over from Ireland, otherwise i would be at all these days!! :D
The truck and a quick hedgehog.
Carrying on the day, a simple crown. I thought this might make a nice easy Christmas tree.
What more do I need to say.......................a PANDA :)
More from the day.
So many good ideas were shared with the group.
I did make superman for the competition, it had to have a loop or sword in it, the trousers/shorts were 3 loops.
I did not enter it though.
Superman with a face.
It was competition time, I think it was just hats.
Thelma and Olivia and moving about here but I think I have other pictures later that I can post.
Olivia's mouth construction on her design was interesting.
Good to see Danny taking some direction and standing still for the photo ;)
I always think it's an added bonus having a competition, so many varied designs.
Thanks all for taking part.
There were a few swords in the hats, I think that was a choice as well.
Roger, Pippa and Paul.
And all together, thanks to everyone for joining in.
The pink lady Olivia made, I thought the attachment point for the teeth and lips was interesting.
The winner of the first day competition was David, he won a bag of the new Qualatex Classic assortment mix.
I wonder if anyone twigged why the bird was attached to the stand in this way?
Simon did quickly mention it but I think it passed many by.
There was even an accident at the day, poor minion.
Does anyone have a picture of the eagle Simon made?
I do not have a finished one, thanks.
The group working away on the very usable dog design.
A few of the dog designs are coming up now. Susie being a little mischievous with hiding Paul's face up.
Still a few more variations on the dog design Simon showed.
Dogs and roses now, should have been guns, he he, made me smile.
Some one packed the poor dog into their suitcase :o where are the RSPCA when you need them?
Ine and her rose.
From the evening get together at Weatherspoons.
Someone was struggling doing up shoe laces so a knight in shiny armour came to her rescue.
Thelma made a sculpture of Simon.
Here they are again, this is how the rumours start.
And another picture of the happy couple :)
More from the evening session.
One of the funniest moments from the two days, Susie and her bow tie rabbit,
it had something to do with his ears and where they were placed :) :D
Then it was time for the real Rob Driscoll.
Rob showed some magic to go with the balloon modelling,
Paul has already changed this about and used for an easter themed event.
And we were off with day two.
Some boat variations, the first picture was my attempt.
And a few more, the dog was one of the prizes from the magic competition.
More ships.
Peas in a pod. Rob then did a session on photography and showed us his very expensive camera that we could all look at.
BUT no one was to touch, I understand that.
It was a very interesting talk covering a good variety of points to try and make things a little easier to get a better picture.
A lot of time and effort went into this session of the day, thanks Rob.
The rear view of Rob's famous lady and the tramp design.
Some people are heavily into pens.
We then had a little session with Olivia on voice projection, this was an interesting 20 minutes and
a few new idea's learnt.
Then it was onto Rob's session three after a late lunch.
Rob explained about his quick reference cards, this was to make sure he colour co-ordinated eyes, logo's etc.
A very good idea.
Then it was onto Bing Rabbit.
Everyone trying to find their raisens :)
A few of the MR Men characters were shown.
Rob showed the gorilla, he did make it in chocolate but when demming made it multi coloured so it was easier to follow.
Close up of the memory jogger cards.
My attempt at Mr Tickle.
There seemed to be a lot of balloons/mess just in front of Paul.
Then it was competition time.
I think the design had to have a heart in it.
Clare
Ine
Tracy
Amy
Thelma
Steve
Susie
Paul
Olivia
Leonie, trying to hide.
Roger
Simon
David
Dave
Amanda
And the joint winners were, Thelma, Roger and Richard.
The thumbs up picture I sent to Pascal as he had an operation on both of his thumbs.
There is another to follow.
Back from the juggling convention in Scotland so back to posting more of the pictures from the days.
Panda's :D The dragon was very nice but difficult to photograph with black balloons.
Rob did make it up in multi colours to help.
Carrying on from the day, Simon made the devil from Rob's panda idea and Roger made the rabbit from Simon's Owl idea.
Even more carrying on.
Oh what a carry on :)
This is the last of the pictures that I have, if anyone has the eagle Simon made and a better picture from Rob's dragon that would be nice.
Thanks to Simon and Rob for all their work in pre pairing for the day, there is a lot of work involved.
Thanks also to all who attended and helped keep the venue tidy and helped Lyn and I in with the shop
and who brought nibbles along as well to make the events what they are...................Thank You.
We did have our first official club meeting on the Tuesday night where are few things were discussed about the club.
A new facebook page has been set up for club members where I will keep everyone up to date on who we
are looking to book, finances and other day to day runnings for the club.
