Just a reminder that Sabina is coming over from Austria for the Care & Share day on Wed 9th July in Banstead, Surrey for a hands on lecture/workshop. The day will run from 10am till 6pm with two sessions during the day 11.oo till 1.3opm and then 2.3o till 5.oo pm with twisting & jamming during the rest of the day.
The cost for the full day is only £35.oo or if you can only make a half day which is either 10 till 2 or 2 till 6 either session is just £20.
Sabina was on the star interview a few weeks back, so to check out her questions & answers; http://www.balloonchat.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=67 (http://www.balloonchat.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=67)

I am glad to hear that Graham :D
Is it cream cakes as normal ?
I always think it's nice for people to bring along cream cakes :D & I'll bring the tea, coffee etc.
Looking forward to the day as I've seen Sabina lecture before & she has a real wealth of talent.

As yet still to book a hall :o Better get my finger out ;)
Graham Lee
OK The hall is booked, well a large room actually :D
The address is;
Mead Room
Banstead Community Hall
Park Road
Banstead
Surrey
SM7 3AJ
Graham is that the same place as the January care and share day ?
Yes the same place but not the big hall just a large room.
Dont forget to bring some cream cakes ;) :)
Of course cream cakes :D not the large room eh, an intimate close up lecture we are having then :o
Would it be the room occupied by the choral singing group in january? I remember when I first arrived I thought I wouldn't leave any better at balloons but may leave a passable tenor!
It's the first room on the right as you go into the building.
I'll be going - looks like it will be a great day. I know Sabina and her balloon sculptures - they are ace.
see you all there.
danny
Just back from the day & what an exciting time we all had as well :D
Will explain all tomorrow & put up some pictures.
I thought you would have been tucked up and fast asleep by now, Graham.
Just a short post to thank everyone there today - it was a real pleasure to meet all of you. I have been sitting looking at my efforts and am simply amzed at myself (ok, ok, Graham, 90% of the fish was your doing - credit where credit is due :) )
Sabina, your efforts have opened my mind even further in this latex twisting world and helped me to appreciate the 160 even more (as well as teaching me to do a pinch twist .. I'm going to dream about those tonight, I'm sure). It was was a pleasure to meet you as well, and I hope you have enjoyed your travels and that you both get home safely.
I took some photos, and will get them uploaded as soon as I can.
Cheers, all,
Dave
A big thank you to Graham for organising this workshop and to Sabina for doing such a magnificant job. It was a 5 hour workshop - a long one for anyone who speaks fluent English. For Sabina to do the 5 hours with English as her second language was quite a test but she rose to it in style. Her models are superb as always. The day started off a bit shakey when we arrived at the hall to find the key holder had not turned up to let us in. Graham was Mr Action Man!! After trying both contact numbers with no joy he promptly produced a second venue. What a magician!!! In less than 15min we were iin the alternative veune and setting up. Unfortunately one person of all those booked did not manage to find us. We put a notice on the door stating the venue change with directions and Grahams mobile number in case of difficulties but Graham had a rather irate message from him (irate putting it mildly). The venue change was an unfortunate result of being let down and I am so impressed with Graham for his quick thinking. I think everyone who attended will agree the day was a great success. I hope the small gripes he receives from the odd people after all his efforts won't put him off organising future events. Sometimes it can be a thankless job doing so but most people really do appreciate it I am sure.
Thanks Thelma for filling them in with the problems of the day. We still managed to start on time & only had to be out the new hall 30 mins earlier than planned so that weight watchers could get in.
Here are a few pictures,
Thelma playing with my sword on Tuesday night in my front room.
Sabina wearing her boat hat &
Mr Knobbly knees himself? who is a member on the forum :D
More picyures from the day;
My version of Sabina's butterfly, fish & sailboat
Some more of my attempts at Sabina's workshop yesterday.
The spider is really good, a lot better than it looks in the picture.
Some pictures of the motley crew who turned up on the day :D
Last few pictures of the day
Almost forgot my favourite one of the day, which for me has all the elements a balloon sculpture needs.
Just so adorable & lovely
What an excellent day. A slight hiccup to start then with his amazing magic Graham produces a new hall and its all hands to the pump to set up.
Sabina was superb, a real inspiration and I learnt loads.
Meeting those that attended and putting faces, and knees ;) to names on here was good.
I had to have a go at the dolphin that Sabina showed us at the end but didn't have time to do hands on with us and I will post the pics of my efforts later today.
Many thanks for the day Graham and many many thanks for your hard work and understanding coaching us through our efforts of reproducing your marvelous models Sabina :D
As promised her is my attempt at Sabina's Dolphin
Did anyone else try it ?
I wasn't going to post mine but as you asked. It's a few days old & I've only just taken the picture.
Let's try this - if it works, great, if not, back to the drawing board.

there you go mate we dont have to leave to site now lol
edit = yes we do dam
Dave,
That's a nice way to view the pictures.
It's good when no one realises that your taking the shots, so much more natural.
Craig, When I click on the picture it still takes me away from the site?
Nice pics Dave and nice to look at them like that. I have one of Graham and Michael and no I dont have a clue what they are doing.
We were presenting the £1 coin for the best one balloon figure before the Sabina lecture started with Flo (Sabina's son) being the judge.
Michael won with the squirrel, the pound was the one I won from Thelma on weather or not the top of the Elma Fudd head on Bonnie's design was a 660 or round so I gave away the winnings which Michael then presented to Flo & when Flo was up in London he bought me a balloon funny face stress ball.
So all those that believe in Karma, it worked out a treat with lot's of fun on the way.
