After the opening show there was a 30 minute break and then it was the adult show, George Firehorse is very funny and very likeable.

Pat picked out the winning ticket........from Practical magic who organise the convention so Cheryl came up and did a re-draw and Andy Squire from balloon chat and a BAG member won.
It was nice of Jeremy and Cheryl to put the prize back in, then they did the draw for winning the Silly Billy book that everyone signed. Not sure who won this?

David Oakley winning the make a badge for the convention prize, I did not get a picture of the winning badge, David won a DVD on puppets.
It was fun to see all the different badges people had come up with, some spending hours making them and some at least seconds  
Ricky doing his 15 minute power presentation on the clear force bag and I think it was Collette and the title of her power presentation was "The Money Shot" all about what impact good photographs can have on your website, some very good suggestions were made and I thought it was 15 minutes very well spent.

Andy with his winnings, he was drawn out for the lucky golden ticket that was given away by the children's magic magazine rubber chicken.
There will be another prize draw done with the next issue as well, all you have to do is buy the latest issue or be a yearly subscriber.

I would just like to thank Graham for posting up the other week about some tickets becoming available right at the last minute, because of this I was able to go to Trix in the Stix this year. I would like to get this part out of the way right at beginning, Yes I did only go because Buster was there too :oops: . The venue was great (apart from the prices) and the scenery around the complex was fantastic. I'm not a magician and love the fact that magic is magic and was amazed by some of the simplest things whilst walking around. I found the first night entertainment great, I know that many thought that Normando was strange but I was just sitting there in wonder at some of the things he was doing.

The second day, whilst good and sometimes informative, I found myself really waiting for the time to pass though. Having never been to a magic convention like this before I didn't know what to expect. The truth is it was a little bit like watching one of the shopping channels on the TV. Occasionally one of the lecturers would say something that seemed to make sense for possible adaption or use, but it was just all a big sales plug. Lecture notes everywhere. Don't get me wrong I enjoy reading some of these as much as the next person, but really! Every lecture! apart from one.

Buster was AMAZING! Some of his lecture was taken from the Balloon Gags vol. 1 and though I had seen this before, through video, it was so much better actually watching in the flesh.

So once again many thanks to Graham for the heads up and the event organisers for letting me in ;-)

I'm really glad I went to Trix in the Stix. Excellent lectures, a really good mix of show business and business business stuff.

Next year's line up looks great with Buster Balloon coming back, Mike Bent and Mel Mellers too. There will also be four 15 minute power presentations, lots of fun, a cabaret on the Monday night and more!

It was announced on facebook that Buster was attending the convention and I read it as just attending the convention.
So be quick and book, there are only 12 tickets left.
