Title: How I started...

How I got started in Balloon twisting by Kate Lawry
I have been a face painter for 10 years and quite often worked with balloon modellers and watched them at work thinking how great it was. I remember years ago asking a modeller (it was Lord Geoffrey) to show me how to make a flower and he kindly did but I went back to my face painting, thinking its not as easy as it looks!
My customers kept asking if I did balloons as well as face painting and I only knew very basic models, but I starting doing both at parties and they seemed happy with flowers and swords, but I wasn't.
I wasn't confident in what I was making so went to a few of Grahams Care and Share days and now I'm hooked, and after going to the Millenium Jam well I keep dreaming about balloons and my husband thinks I've gone weird!
I'm definately into balloons now, its just amazing what you can make out of latex! I now think this is what I've been looking for, I studied art and Sculpture at University and I have now found my new medium!

Sorry to hear you have the balloonfever now,.... did you know there's no cure for that?

But I've seen at TMJ that the fever infected you in a good way.
It will make you better every day, or worse in your husbands opinion.

By the way, how did your kitchen look when you came back from Belgium?
 ;)
