Hello all face painters.

I am organising a face painting jam on Friday 5th April.
This is open to all levels of face painters.
Free Entry

It is easy to locate, just off the M4 with plenty of parking.
Workshops and retailers will be present.
Families welcome as there are play areas both inside and out.
A great prize is on offer to all painters who attend the day....A free day ticket to Rosey's Convention. You have to be there for a chance to win.

Welcome / Helo from Wales
February 24, 2012, 08:22:49 PM
Helo pawb/hello all

After the proverbial nudge from Graham...this is me... ;)

As a professional face painter and the Welsh area representative for FACE (The professional facepainting association), I was used to working with other professional entertainers. However, I was continually disappointed with the basic swords and dogs most, but not all, were happy to make throughout the day..the only surprise was what colour the next one would be. However, as I couldn't do better myself I wasn't in any position to criticise and I am also aware there is a place/time for such entertainment. These experiences, plus working with true twisters, spurred me on to learning the truely addictive skill of balloon modelling, the only drawback being, I was not over keen on the sound of latex being twisted. I am also afraid of heights but I have learned to stilt walk:-) Well, I love a challenge! My daughter once stated when I was practising, 'mam, your balloons are fine but the look on your face is horrendous, you'll frighten all the children!' So I put the balloons away for a while, defeated. At the same time not realising the potential this new skill would /could add to my business name and income. This time I was going to make a go at it, and now I do not hear the squeaking. What squeaking? (Apparently they make a slight noise, on occasion, I don't know if you have noticed.) Now I am a true ballonatic and want to keep improving my skills and also share in the good practice.  That is one of the main reasons why Graham's care and share days are 'just the ticket.' I hope to see you at one soon.

Balloon Tutorial & Help / Ben Ten
January 18, 2009, 07:04:58 PM
Hello there

Has anyone made a large Ben Ten model suitable for a birthday child? I was pondering between a large stand alone model or even clothes/accessories for child to wear. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. Many thanks in advance.

Hello all

I 've been on the forum a while but haven't had chance to introduce myself yet. I have been a face painter for over 14 years and decided to add to my talents by learning to twist about 2 years ago. Not an easy task for someone who wasn't that keen on balloons! But I have definately caught the twisting bug and can't wait to learn more. I'm also afraid of heights but am keen to learn to stilt walk!

Balloon Tutorial & Help / Otter help please

Has anyone got any ideas to make an otter? I've had a request to make some for a charity do. Perhaps smallish version for each table plus a large model. ;)
