Oooooh! Nice idea Kate.
If anyone wants to make the mistletoe its easy.  Just stuff a round balloon with a 260.  I was in Morrisons with Mike last year and they had big cardboard mistletoes.  Leastways I think they might have been cardboard.  Mike saw me looking at them and groaned.  "Let me guess" he said "Balloons?"  Poor Mike. He does have to put up with my obsession..  Anyway I am pleased the mistletoe got the thumbs up.  Thanks

Here is my go at Thelma's Snowman. I did one before using two rounds but it wasn't quite right, I like this better as it has a nicer shape. The nose is good too using the 'inverted' raisen type technique (for want of a better name)

Patricia Bunnel used the same technique for a nose on one of her models when she did her lecture in Birmingham - it is very effective
C\'mon Let\'s twist again...

I was sorry that I could not go to that.  I only got to meed Patricia for a short time just before going to Belgium.  I did not know she had been using that technique.    I have been using this for quite a while thought because it is so useful.  Here are a couple of other models that I used the technique on.   Hello Kitty and the slinkey dog from Toy Story.  The Kitty balloon has an extra element though because the head is a round balloon and the nose is attached from the inside but also the round balloon has been drawn inwards to attain a different shape.  So although its using the internal attachment it is slightly different.

Thelma Levett said ....
1. Inflate the tip end of a 160 orange balloon to the size you require for the nose.
Okay done that ...
2. Tie a double knot at the end of the bubble. This works with a 5" or 10" or 12" Just scale the nose to the size of the snowman you are making.
Yup, all good so far ..
3. Stretch the lip of the round balloon open and put the orange nose inside.
Uh huh ... what???? Super strong fingers and an extra pair of hands perhaps? Mine got into the neck of the balloon and created a vacuum, and the removal process made a cute little hat  :D  :D

Cute result.
Is that a 260 balloon you are holding?  If it is it will be a little more difficult to get into a round balloon than a 160 bubble.  If you are using a 260 bubble it might be best to try putting it into a 10" or 12".

No, it is a 160 - but probbly too fat - off to try a slimmer version ...

Hooray - I did it, still not a snowman yet, that can wait until tomorrow, but managed to attach a nose/beak/carrot.  Was a neck size issue - my 5" balloons seem to have very tight neck, so I used a heart and it worked.

Thanks Thelma

Post a pic when you've done it

Thanks for showing the wearable horse Graham. I'm sure you know but if you substitute the ears for antlers you have a topical reindeer!

Are you going to post your reindeer then? Thelma made a reindeer from the horse idea at the Banstead Levett & Lee day
