Nice handbags Andrew and Neil.
Graham would it be a good idea if you only gave instructions only if at least 5 people tried to make it by the end of the month?

Here we go with my attempt  :D

Thelma Levett

I was trying to make a new handbag for this thread but it failed dismally.  However, as is my want I sat and looked at the shambles I had and saw the potential for a butterfly.  So here is the reslut.

Tonya

very cool butterfly Thelma!  Don't you just love it when one thing turns into something else...lol!  very fun :)
Have a happy day <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=\":-)\" title=\"Smile\" />

Twysted Kreations

Ditto to Tonya's comment.   Love the butterfly

Thelma Levett

I have to admit it happens a lot.  If I didnt sit and turn my failures around for a while I wouldnt have half the models in my collection that I have,  So.... I still have to make a bag....

Twysted Kreations

Here is my go at the handbag - its a little too dark... sorry

Professor T Wist

Following the fantastic care and share day part 2 in Banstead here is my rendition of the Croft Calzone fold (you had to be there) handbag.
It even opens and closes and you can put things in it  :D  :o

Here come the instructions;

Start by inflating the three 260 balloons to have 4 fingers un-inflated, on the model I have made here to explain the bottom of the bag is in white with a 4 finger bubble for the width and the sides are 6 fingers. In the original pink one I posted the bottom bubbles are 3 finger and sides 5 fingers as I had seven layers for the pink bag and only six for the demo bag.
I have made all the balloons in different colours for ease of instructions/to follow

Twist a 4 finger bubble followed by a 1 finger pinch twist (you could leave out the pinch twists in the demo and add in a contrasting colour as in the pink bag) Add the second balloon to the pinch twist and twist a 6 finger side bubble followed by a 1 finger pinch twist, add the last balloon around the second pinch twist and twist a 6 finger bubble followed by the last 1 finger pinch twist. The 4 finger bottom bubble should be softish as you need to attach the handle here later.

Then twist a 1 finger bubble in one of the side bubbles (green balloon in demo) then a 6 finger side bubble, hold onto this twist while twisting a 1 finger bubble into the next side balloon (Lilac in demo) and then twist this bubble around the green 6 finger bubble.
You then need to twist a 6 finger bubble in the Lilac side balloon and hold onto this while twisting a 1 finger bubble into the bottom white balloon and twisting them together. Twist a 4 finger bubble into the white balloon and thread this behind and through the very first 1 finger bubble you made with the green balloon. This finishes off the second layer, although the picture shows three layers complete.

Before the next layer (4th row) the top 1 finger bubble between layer three and four needs to be two half of one finger bubbles as this is where the catch of the handbag will be twisted in later (You could just make a softish 1 finger bubble and twist this in two later when you add the catch)

If making the bag smaller as in the pink bag with seven rows the catch would fit into a different position and the above twist is not required.

Repeat the above till all six layers are twisted together, dont forget to make the last row of 1 finger bubbles into pinch twists and the last bottom row softish as you need to twist this in half to attach the handle.

Adding the handle, inflate a 160, leaving 3 fingers uninflated. Twist a 1 finger pinchtwist and secure around middle of the white (bottom) balloon, twist a 4 finger bubble and attach around the top pinch twist. The handle in the picture is six hands, 24 finger bubble and twist the balloon around the top pinch twist at the other end of the bag. Then twist a 4 finger bubble followed by a 1 finger pinch twist.
