Hi Balloontwister's,

I want to show you my cockatoo. The original creation is from Patrick van de veen.
Instead of a 646 for the head and body I used a 360, because I didn't have 646 balloons :-(

So the beak (6" heartballoon) is a little bit to big, because I did not use a 646 balloon.

I hope to see your cockatoo creations.

I finally got around to making Patrick's Cockatoo design from Balloon Magic Magazine # 57 after Graham manage to find me some Qualatex 6" hearts that were not out of date and all stuck together! Tony Twist also advised that you don't need hearts but can use rounds instead (thanks Tony)...

Anyway here it is.....

The base is my own design using a water filled Geo blossom surrounded with a 260 green. The perch gives perfect stability and the bird sits upright on its own. Some photos are below if you want to do a copy....

I tried to make this figure many times, but was difficult because I did not know how to begin. Thanks to the photos you have taught me was do-able. And of course, with the help of Parapsycho, who told me how to make the beak.
I make a little change, because only have 260.
Here I show you the shape you've done, with 260 balloons

Wow, all of yours look great.

I guess I need to go back and look at the image of a cockatoo though because I was thinking the beaks were smaller in
comparison to the head and body.   I just finished shooting a DVD on exotic birds with Big Bear Heads and of course my birds are all very "well fed" and on the chubby side.

Here is my version of a cockatoo.  I really to need to go look up images again.  I could have sworn the beak should be smaller, but from everything posted, my proportions are all off....

Shonna, I think you are worrying unnecessarily. Your bird designs are great as is Patrick's original parrot/cockatoo. I would just leave them as they are
