When Graham said "quick and easy skeleton" my first thoughts were "easy sure, but quick?"...  Then it occurred to me that quite a bit of time could be shaved if the ribs and back bone were twisted in sets of 2.  So I pulled out a couple of 160s, made arms out of each then from neck to hips, twisted both balloons at the same time - meaning that since I was working with both balloons at the same time, every time I made a rib I ended up with the pair and every time I made a segment of the back bone, I ended up with 2 bubbles.

With this small modification in the twisting process it makes the average skeleton design fairly quick to make.

I tried out my theory on a tiny skeleton: 2 - 160s and a printed round.

Happy twisting,
Bonnie

Love those skeletons, so had a go at one this lunchtime.

He's having a break before he puts his scarey head on to go haunting  :D  :D

I put the coke can in to give him some scale, and loved Graham's sitting down skeleton, which gave me the idea for the pose !!!!!!
Kind regards
Kevin

Thank you Keeley Jayne for the compliment. :)

Here's bat design I played around with.  I'm not so happy with the face, but I like the body and wings.

Happy twisting,
Bonnie

I had a gig today that I knew there would be no way for me to keep up with so I decided to pre-make some "arm hugger wands".   The idea was that the wands could be turned into arm huggers with the addition of a pinch twist and a loop so that those waiting would still feel like they were getting something custom made... or if necessary handed out as is.  The pumpkin wands could be turned into bracelets (just let the air out of the wand part to make a wrist strap.)

The happy face jack-o-lantern is a simplistic scarecrow.  The skull is a simplistic grim reaper.

to be continued...

The one thing I did not count on was that this was my "home town crowd" of kids.  They did not want wands or arm huggers.  With a few exceptions, they all wanted hats!  :D  So the pre-mades had to be turned into hats which means that I really didn't save much time at all by taking along the pre-mades.

4 hours later, after non-stop-twisting-as-fast-as-I-could, I closed my line.  The 5 or 6 pre-mades that had not found a new home were given out to the some of the ones that showed up after the line closed as wands.  My hands feel like they are made of jelly, but it was a really fun event to work.

The eyeball was my "purple monster".  The alien... was an alien.

Happy twisting,
Bonnie, The Balloon Lady
P.S. I still think the arm hugger idea a good one... just not for my local folks. :)

ha ha ha ha...that's what you get for spoiling your kids Bonnie (and training them to want hats   )
I love the arm hugger wands, they are so quick and simple to make.  My daughter (who is not much of a twister) is going to help me this year at my Halloween gigs, and these are something I know she can make fairly easily.  Thank you very much for sharing them.  :D
Have a happy day <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_smile.gif" alt=\":-)\" title=\"Smile\" />
