I Find it often looks better if at the top of the arch your rotate the other way so that ypu end with a 'V' in the pink balloons given the example but then both sides look symentrical. Lots of examples on the net to show this.

I agree and most of the time we do it that way for a spiral arch, but Lisa wanted a single straight spiral all the way across.  Picture below with that spiral.

This was done with 2 columns and an ali rod across, but too wide a span for using Ikea lights as extra weight needed

Well I did it!!

THANKYOU so much Pam for your wonderful emails, I was so worked up all week leading up to it and hardly slept Friday night  :D , but I was up and out of the house by 7am yesterday, so didn't have time to be nervous once I got there.

It took about an hour to do (I don't have a dual inflator, the balloons took a while to blow up, even with my Zibi  :(  ), but it all went swimmingly and I was really pleased with it. As was the client.

Thanks for your advice on here too, much appreciated.

Hi Lisa,

I walked past this arch literally just as you had finished it... wish I had known it was you.

I noticed you used the IKEA stands and alu-rod... was the arch held up with anything else?

Martin.
