Its week number 47, eeeek its only 5 weeks until I reach a year. I am off to the Millennium Jam in Belgium in 4 weeks time so that means I will need to make my 52nd movie balloon while at the Millennium Jam, I wonder what I shall do.

I have done another Disney movie this week, my third in a row, there is a reason for all the Disney films, I spent lst week in Disneyland Paris and I am on a Disney high at the moment. Last week I did the first ever Disney feature film with Snow White, this week I am doing the most recent Disney movie with Big Hero 6.

It is yet another very easy sculpture however to faithfully recreate the poster it would need to be a very simple sculpture, The robot in the poster is called Baymax and he is made from just 3 balloons, his head is a 5" round which I attached to an 11" round for his body, his arm is a 350.

Have a lovely week balloony people :D

GREAT SCOTT!!! It is October the 21st 2015 and today I think there is only 1 series of films I could choose to replicate, for it is on this very date that Marty McFly and Doc Brown arrive from 1985 in their Delorean Time machine ready to set things straight for Marty's family. No I know many of you will be thinking that I have done the wrong film, I SHOULD be doing Back to the Future 2 however as I have not done any of the 3 films yet and I like to do things in order I decided to do number 1 and besides BTTF 2 wouldn't exist if it was not for BBTF 1.

This set of films is by far my all time favourite series of films, I think its better than any other film in the history of films, yes even better than Star Wars, even better than Gone with the Wind or Casablanca and oh yes its even better than the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Now I DID cheat a little bit with this photo, back in November 2009 I made a photograph of myself as Marty McFly, I decided to save time and use the exact same background but instead of me in the scene I put in the balloon Marty McFly. It is still all my own work however a lot of it is 6 years old. the balloon I made at the City of London balloon jam yesterday which was an excellent event (as always).

Hello fellow balloonies, I hope you are all well and enjoying your half term week. It is coming up for my favourite day of the whole year, it is a day I like more than my birthday and I even like it about a thousand times more than Christmas, yes its Halloween, the best celebration of the entire year. I thought it would be good to do a scary film this week and I went through lots of choices but ended up going back in time to 1922 and the German Expressionist horror Nosferatu.
49-NosferatuSM.jpg[/attachment:35z6kq95]
I studied this movie when I was at University, The film has a bit of a checkered past as it is based on Bram Stokers Dracula but the names were changed (obviously to protect the innocent). The Bram Stoker estate decided to sued the film company and a judge eventually ordered that all copies of the film should be destroyed, A few copies of the film survived and it is now regarded and one of the greatest horror films of all time. I decided to give a little nod to the films checkered past, if you look closely you will see I am reading a copy of Dracula.

My Nosferatu is made from many different shapes and sizes of balloon, I started with his head and the whole head design is based on Michael Abrahamson's head design that he taught at the recent Leeds Care and Share days. I started with an 11" blush round balloon and then built it up using 260s and 160s for the features. The hands came next and those are made from 160s, finally the body and arms are made from 350s.

See you soon

Hello everyone, I have reached week 50, just 2 more weeks to go until I reach 1 year of movie balloons. This week I have recreated another of my all time favourite films, not only is this a favourite film but it contains my favourite music, The film this week is E.T.
50-ETSM.jpg[/attachment:3ghaatbj]
This movie scene has been on my list to do from the start, I originally planned it to look slightly different but in the end I went for the famous moon shot that everyone is familiar with. The E.T. is a design I came up with several years ago when I was doing my 365 days of balloons, The head is made from about 6 or 7 balloons in total and is a mixture of 350s, 5" rounds and 260s, the hands are made from 160s.

It has been a bit of a whirlwind week for me this week with a Twisted Cinema photo appearing in the Guardian and the Daily Mirror running a story on me on Wednesday. I am not going to say too much more but there may possibly be one more thing coming up in the next month or so which is exciting.

Anyway, have a great week everyone, see you soon.

Hello all, its Week 51 and this week I am off to Belgium for the Millennium Jam in Belgium so I thought I would do a Belgium related movie and I could think of 2 obvious ones, either Tintin or the Smurfs so I went for the Smurfs.
51-SmurfsSM.jpg[/attachment:1v393r7g]
I am not overly happy with this photo, I took the pics in a bit of a rush and then gave the balloons to a neighbour and then I realised the camera was on the wrong setting so its not as good quality as I wanted it to be. I have also been a bit short of time this week but never mind, at least I managed to get it done. I only made 2 Smurfs for this, Pappa smurf and then the other normal smurf. They are made from a mixture of 160s, 260s and rounds. I think Papa smurf has a bit of 350 in him too.

See you all soon everyone

Hello all, so here it is, Week number 52 and its another first for me as this week it is a movie that is not even out at the cinemas yet however I am sure it a film that almost everyone will know about. It is the upcoming movie Star Wars - The Force Awakens.
52---Star-Wars---The-Force-.jpg[/attachment:22u3or7f]
Last week at the Millennium jam I had an idea to do a sculpture but the event is just so full on that I never got around to doing it so I am saving that idea for later on. Yesterday I visited the City of London balloon jam and it was here I had a go at making the BB-8 robot from the upcoming Star Wars movie, With lots of help from Danny I made 2 versions (Thanks Danny), one was similar to this and another was a line work version, today I finalised the large design and spent ages doing the art work on it.

If you are wondering the head of my BB-8 is a double stuff balloon, It is a 5" round and a 160 inside another 5" round. The main body is an 11" round.

Well thats it, I have done a whole year of movie balloons, 52 weeks and 52 movies, what shall I do now? hmmm, shall I carry on? yeah, why not, I am going to change the rules a bit though, I have decided from now on I am going to include the small screen as well as the big screen, so expect to see some TV shows and maybe even the odd scene from a live theatre show and other things like that. I may even take the occasional week off, we will see :D

Thanks to everyone for watching, contributing and commenting

Bullseye

Hello everyone, Happy new year, I do hope you have had a lovely few weeks. It has been a few weeks since I last posted a balloon photo, I made it to a year of my Twisted Cinema series of balloons and decided to take a break.
Talking of Take a Break I was lucky enough to feature in the 7th January issue of Take a Break magazine here in the UK, how very exciting.

Anyway, I have been wondering what to do next with my balloons, do I continue the Twisted Cinema or start something new? Well I came up with an idea to continue my Twisted Cinema and I need your help.
One thing I always struggle with is what on earth do I make? I spend just as long thinking about what I should make as I do actually making the balloons, so how about I let YOU decide what I make? Each week I will ask everyone for suggestions and I will choose the best suggestion and see if I can have a go at making that. how does that sound?
I have decided to open up the theme to cover a much wider choice of things, so instead if it just being films you could choose a TV character or programme, a book character, maybe something from a musical or stage show, in fact you can choose ANYTHING, including something from the movies if you like.

Today for my first challenge I was talking to a lovely lady called Jan in the West Midlands, I suddenly decided to put her on the spot and choose something for me to make and she chose Bullseye from the Toy Story films, thanks Jan, what an excellent choice and I really enjoyed making him.
01---BullseyeSm.jpg[/attachment:2wcszcwn]
My Bullseye is made from a mixture of 160s, 260s 350s and a 646, the body is a 646 if you are wondering.

So now its over to you folks, what would you like to see next time? put your suggestions in the comments below and I will pick one and that will be next weeks sculpture, I already know I will be getting some excellent suggestions.

See you soon everyone
Rob
