I have been to a few craft stalls to twist balloons, the last one was in a big marquee with old wooden tables. All the stall holders had lovely cloths, some with logos on to put over the tables. However I didn't. It didn't affect the models I put out, but it didn't look good. What do you do in this situation?
Finally, in situations with lots of children, or special needs children who don't always understand how they should be behaving, how do you stop them pinching displayed models, or balloons that are not yet inflated?

Many thanks

I use a cloth that is that crushed velvet look as you can throw it about,
screw it up and still it looks like brand new and luxurious.

You can buy some elasticated table clothes from EBay that we saw at a convention that looked really good as well.

Thanks Graham, will look into getting something! Do you have any advice on the crowd control element at such events? I normally say something along the lines of yes of course you can have such and such, but you need to ask you parents first. This dent work with kids who are intent on being naughty, or just don't understand what I've said, and then the cheeky ones who decide they'll help themselves to what ever they like?!! I have searched the forum, but the only crowd control topics i can find seem to be at parties which I've not ventured into yet as I wouldn't have a clue what to do!

I tend to avoid tables as much as I can, I usually have one small one to put my cards and album on but generally I don't use them, they just get in the way of the working area. you cant stand behind a table and twist balloons, it is a visual craft that people need to see, treat it as a performance. My small table had a crushed velvet table cloth for it. you dont want anything too bright and busy, keep it plain and simple so that the balloons are visual against it.

All of the models I have on display are usually put onto stands and are up in the air or behind me. I put a few out in front but they are tied down so that no one can walk off with them. If they kids touch them then so be it but they cant walk off with them. most of them I keep up in the air so that the little ones cant reach them.
