Once you have answered the other questions I would like to ask you who you would most like to make a model for, any one from anytime and why? What would you make them?

 :)

1, what road led you into balloon modelling?

in 1988 I bought Brian floras the balloon vid so as to learn some basic models to complement my close up magic also back then magicians were few and far between approaching groups in pubs & restaurants ect was uncommon blowing balloons up and twisting them would grab peoples attention and make that initial contact a lot easier

2, when did you get started with balloons?

IV messed with balloons since 1988 but didn't really get going till 2005 when I hosted mike decker for a week (and what a week lol)

3, what's your best twisting experience?

I got a call a couple of years ago asking if I would  be the pokermon balloon man on the pokermon tour I only had 2 days to bring myself up to speed I came up  with about 6 models that worked well I also borrowed a couple of ideas from the galleries I loved the challenge & being part of the whole pokermon thing

4, what is the worst thing that has ever happened to you during a ballooning/entertaining session?

I cant really think of one apart from the usual wingers at the end of the day or when you need a break I don't let them bother me so I don't really think of them as a problem
I once got memory block & couldn't for the life of me remember how to make the model I was trying to make so I made something else and told them to use there imagination lol

5, what do you most enjoy about twisting & why?

I love a challenge
Twice a year I get a brief to make 5 or six balloons for a bunch of guys with downs syndrome I'm told there name given a brief description of there likes and dislikes and what interests each one
I then have a week or so to make each one a balloon they can relate to I try and keep them all original
I just love the challenge
I also enjoy encouraging the kids to use there imagination when I make their balloons blue trees with pink leaves etc purple dogs with red noses it double's the fun
And you find color combinations you other wise would never think of
Although you also get the kids who have to have everything done properly & that's cool to

6, what's your favorite age to entertain?

One year-- to one hundred & onety one

7, do you have the same act but vary the presentation for all ages or do you have set acts for different ages?

Don't have an act as such just a load of routines patter and bits of business I put together to suite the occasion

8, what's your favorite thing to make at the moment?

Tinker bell -  monkey in a tree - and Patricia bunnell's thunder thighs (dog monkey & alien)

9, what is the most asked for model?

The one I've just made lol tinker bell & the monkey

10, what do you tend to do more of if stuck in the 'balloon production line' model?

Laser gun's swards tinker bell & flutter byes although I try not to fall into that trap I don't mind keeping people waiting (not too long though) and give them better models they are more impressed and my reputation stays in tact

11, who is your market aimed at?

Corporate - shopping malls - restaurant's I also like to do house parties as a walk around /mix n mingle

12, what kind of work do you do mostly - parties? Corporate? Etc

As above

14, what irritates you most at a gig?

I won the one balloon model comp & Leeds care & share day sponsored by sempertex & run by G & T then again it's the only thing I've ever won lol
Dose blowing up my first balloon by mouth 2 weeks & 2 ruptured cheeks later count as an achievement

18, what advice would you give to someone starting out, or wanting to increase their business?

Exposure if people don't see you your not there
Also try to offer something different to other twisters & remember that a lot of people miss a lot of opportunities because they come along disguised as hard work

19, what road in latex do you see yourself taking in the future

Michael Gjerek need I say more

20, what is your personal goal when you set off to work? Is it money or to entertain etc?

Both although the fee is already sorted by time I set off to work my objective is to justify my fees and do a top job

21, what are your balloon goals for the future?

improving & developing my creative twisting skills

22, if you could start all over again, would you change anything?

No I feel everything is right on time

23, how would you like the future of balloon modeling to develop?

I would like the next 20 years progress like the last 20 years

25, how do you keep the enthusiasm going & what still excites you about our great world of latex

Victories secret ;)  (thanks Marie)

26, what inspires or is your thought process in coming up with a new design

I try and see things as balloons & not balloons as things also for me balloon models need to be practical

27, who would you like to work with dead or alive,?

If you mean in the balloon world I think ken stillman could be fun to work with

28, what makes you laugh?

Bill hicks - Morecambe and Wise - bill bailey - Steve martin - all the carry on film's
In fact I'll laugh at anything especially when I get the giggling goggles on
