Title: head bands
Post by: Roger on September 11, 2012, 05:57:47 AM
Hi
as some of you are aware I have a stall in London well recently I was talking to one of the other traders who trades in hair bands, I said about the use of hair bands for balloon head ware. They said they thought they could get the Alice bands for me from china a lot cheaper, well they have but I have. I have had to buy thousands so I am offering to share my good fortune with others. I expect the price will be 10p each plus postage once I have paid import duty etcetera will confirm this.

These will be plain black around 8mm wide with no teeth. if anyone is interested please let me know. The container they are in wont be in for around 4 weeks. Will post picture as soon as they arrive.

By the way I am not intending to start any form of wholesale business I can't cope with what I am doing at the moment, it is just that I had the chance to get them cheep  and had to buy thousands.

Roger

Hi Roger,

I have not used headbands before, but have seen great ideas with them, particularly where hats may be too clumsy for some girls or ladies, so would be veryinterested.

Just a quick question ....from someone who has never used them.....are they all one size, or are there different sizes for adults and kids, although I guess I will be mostly using them for adults.

Thanks !!

OK had a call yesterday to say that the container should be realised this weekend, and I am hoping to get a call over the weekend to go and get them. Fingers crossed.

The person I am importing them through has 2 containers coming in from china, and will be getting them delivered one at a time so hopefully it will be in the first one they are meant to be.

Regards
Roger

ok they are out of the container and on there way to my house I have ended up with 4000 (not sure what has happened to the other 2000) so will be working out postage costs and hopefully get them ready  to post out over the weekend.

I want to share them around a bit  so when I contact you please don't expect to get 1000 ;)

If all goes well then I will get a lot lot more next time.

Regards
Roger.

Hi
have sent out pm's to the first people on the list, the head bands are all packaged in boxes of 100.

I am offering each person a box of 100 to start with as I am trying to spread them around.

They are £15 per 100 including postage.

At the moment I am only sending to the UK but may send further afield in the future.

Roger

I went to see Roger at his Balloon Shack in Spitalfields Market today and collected my first 100 headbands.

THEY ARE AWESOME.

They look good enough to use naked (ie black plastic). I've just tested covering with a 350 over for colouration, slips over nicely.
They feel strong and bendy enough to fit adults and kids alike.

I will be testing them "in the real world" on Sunday.

Thanks Roger!   :)

Thats great to hear danny, ive been using primark bands and they are just too thin.
I also like the idea that they look great without adding a 350.

On another note can i publicly thank Roger for sourcing them xxxxx

This person is a friend on facebook so the link might not work for some but he has thin hairbands at £5.50 per 100 and thick hairbands at £6.50 per 100.
Plus postage.

Normski put me in touch with Jonathon, and I have just received 300 of the thick ones, but not had a chance yet to use them out and about.

The first ones I got were the thin ones, which were really not much use, as they were really flimsy and had no substance to them at all. However, I got in touch and he was quite happy to exchange them for the thicker ones.

They are just under half inch wide, with teeth, and come in a hotch potch of colours. They are mainly red, blue, purple, and black, with a few patterned/tortoiseshell ones.

Also in the ones I got, about a third were chrome, or gold, which I think would be great for weddings, or princesses

One disadvantage over Roger's though, is they don't "Stack" or fit flat inside themselves like Roger's do, so they aren't so easy to carry around.
