Ideas on how to make something fit?

I have just bodged together (really roughly so I could get an idea if it would work before spending too much time on it) a set of 5 business cards - one for each of the services I currently offer and whilst I like the look of 4 of them the 5th just does not "fit".

I think it is because it has an edited background but I really cannot think what sort of a natural background a balloon bouquet would have? Anyone got any suggestions.New_Business_Card_-_Balloon_Deliveries.jpg[/attachment:3gh2pcv2]New_Business_Card_-_Balloon_Modelling.jpg[/attachment:3gh2pcv2]New_Business_Card_-_Decor.jpg[/attachment:3gh2pcv2]

The line round is the actual card size and the picture includes the bleed.

Hi Yvonne,

Why do you need five? They all say the same thing anyway. Why not get one postcard with the five images on? And use the back too.

However, to answer your question. For me the glitter tattoo is not clear. For me, it needs to be very clear on the first glance what I'm looking at and that photo isn't. If I'm not sure what glitter tattoo's are then you need to show this in your chosen image.

Secondly, I really like the multi-coloured logo and I think you should stick to either that or the white one. But not mix and match.
 ;)

Happy new year!

Hi Yvonne

I'd agree with Danny - if someone asks for a facepainter and balloon modeller, which card do you give them??

I'd choose your 2 strongest propositions (for example, say balloon modelling and face painting) I'd put one strong image of a balloon model or 2 on the front, perhaps in portrait, and a second strong face painting image on the reverse in landscape.  Then you could probably duplicate the contact details on both sides, and also mention the other services you offer.  This would give you two cards rolled into one, even when presented next to each other on a notice board because of the orientation.

Just my tuppenceworth, but I hope it helps.

The balloon decoration one with three balloons................................is this not what 90% of decorators use?
Can you not put a stunning piece or picture of a venue you have decorated that will have much more impact or what about your oscar that you made,
would this not have more of a wow factor than three and Yvonne this is only my opinion, three drab balloons on a ribbon.
You need impact girl!! and this is said with a smile on my face  :D  ;)

Good points fella's and I will answer the points raised where possible.

The reason I decided to go for 5 cards is two-fold.  Firstly because I want to be able to hand something to the client that is appropriate to the service they are enquiring about.  Okay so I could get away with only 2 cards (Décor & Entertainment) but I also wanted to get them printed double sided so I could get care instructions printed on the reverse.  That would mean for the entertainment ones I would have to use such small print it would be pointless.

Danny I appreciate your point about which card to give someone who wants more than one service and I'll confess that this thought hadn't even occurred to me!  I guess I would just give them the service I am most proud of or the one that they asked about first.

I am beginning to see a flaw in this plan and I am glad I asked before I rushed headlong onto ordering stupid amounts of cards.

Graham that is the nicest venue I have decorated to date and I kinda thought that it showed a nice room with some balloons.  Unfortunately I have yet to do many jobs, my photography skills are somewhat lacking and I'm still waiting on some pro shots from a friend since May! Trouble is I have about 20 business cards left and could really use some help in working out what to do.  I know I would get a greater volume of response on my face painting forum but it would all conflict and not take into consideration (well the vast majority wouldn't) what I am trying to achieve.

I am also planning on getting double sided leaflets printed once I get my pro shots so that one side will be décor and the other side will be entertainment so I don't need to worry about the cards as anything else but business cards to be handed out like candy ;0)

OK so I had a think and a little look through my photos and have whittled it down to 2 cards.  I definitely want different ones for each side as I don't think it looks fantastic handing a client a interested in wedding décor a card with a face painted child or a balloon model on  ;)New_Business_Card_-_Decor_deliveries.jpg[/attachment:15f8t0gt]New_Business_Card_-_Entertainment.jpg[/attachment:15f8t0gt]

I vote better.
At TMJ Robbie Furman had an A4 folded 3 times so giving you 6 sides, with this you would have more room to have pictures/words etc and the way you fold it would have the appropriate topic the client asked you about at the front, I think I did take a picture of it, I'm off to look.

Goodness I found the picture pretty quickly and it's not A4, 6 sided. Looks even bigger and is eight sided full colour which folds in half and then half again, they may call that quaters
This is the way to go, well I think so.

Just a thought would it be too much having one of these images on each side of a double sided business card? I can then get some cheapy business cards from Vista print made up for the care instructions etc.  If I did that I would remove the necessary services from each side i.e. remove fp, balloons & tt's from the décor side and vice versa?

If you were having the last two images on the one card then you could take the name and contact details off one of the sides and put more info about your services offered on that side.
I still think the brochure is a great idea though.

No I do want the relevant details on both sides so that they don't actually need to turn the card over.  Like I say I want people to know I do all that I do BUT I do want to keep some level of separation to it iykwim?

I think the one with the Face painted child & balloon horse is brilliant for the kiddy market.

I notice you have the same email for both markets...Why?

Consider have different email address for each market.

Fuzzy I'm not sure where this idea has come from but I am trying to streamline things rather than make them more complicated.  I am perfectly happy with the email address I currently have.

I think the two images on one card is much better.

If a wedding decor client wants just decor - great, have they thought about entertainment too?

Good images!
