We have gone with the Unicorn for the model of the month for August.
I was surprised that in all the years we have been doing the tutorials this is the first time for a Unicorn.
So that was a surprise.............for me, he he.

I usually make the Unicorn in White but as there is a balloon shortage at the moment and I have no White we
have made in Pink. This was better for the tutorial as I usually use a White background for the photographs.

I will post some variations at the end after the step by step instructions.
This is the pack that is off out with all orders for August.

Here we go then with the instructions for the Unicorn design.

I Usually use a White 260 for the main body but have made in Pink as will give us better pictures plus there
is a balloon shortage at the moment and White 260's are difficult to come by so we will be adding
Pink 260's to the complimentary packs that we send out with balloon orders.

Inflate the Chrome Purple just over half way, make a 3 finger fold twist and then make three more of these
fold twists followed by a 1 finger pinch twists that helps to hold the feet of the Unicorn square to the floor.

The rest of the Chrome we will use for the horn of the Unicorn later on.

Inflate the Pink 260 leaving 6 fingers uninflated, make two small 1 to 1.5 finger pinch twists for the mouth.
Then you need a 4 finger bubble and a 1.5 finger pinch twist. The ears and horn will sit here later.

The neck bubble is a generous 4 finger bubble, don't make this too big as then proportions look a little off.
Then make a 2 finger pinch twist.

Make a 4 finger bubble for one of the legs and twist this into the fold twist on the Chrome balloon.
Then make another 4 finger bubble and twist this into the 2 finger pinch twist.

You then need another 4 finger bubble and a 1.5 finger pinch twist, we will attach the tail here later.

Then make another 4 finger bubble for the first of the rear legs and twist into the Chrome fold twists.
For the last leg make another 4 finger bubble twisted into the rear pinch twist.
Deflate the rest of the balloon.

For the ears and mane inflate both 160's to about half way and tie together.
The ears I make a 3 finger and a 1.5 finger bubble.

Then do the same again with a 3 finger and a 1.5 finger bubble for the other ear.
Twist this into the top of the head pinch twist.

All the spacer bubbles on the main are 1/2 (half a finger) for instructions I will just say spacer bubble, its easier

For the mane make a small spacer bubble followed by a 2 finger fold twist.

We then have a spacer bubble on the Rose 160 twisted around the Purple 2 finger fold bubble.

Then make a spacer bubble on the Rose 160 and a 2 finger fold twist and then a spacer
bubble on the Purple 160 twisted around the Rose 2 finger fold twist.

You repeat this till you have four 2 finger fold twists in alternating colours.
Finish off the mane with two slightly larger spacer bubbles into the 2 finger pinch twist.

The end of the Purple 160 I make a 6 finger bubble for the tail of the Unicorn.

Attach the tail to the rear pinch twist.
The end of the Rose 160 I insert into the Chrome balloon so the horn of the unicorn
is more 160 than a 260 making it more proportioned to the overall design.

Inflate the horn to approx 3 fingers.

I put a slight curve on the Unicorn horn before I attach this to the pinch twist.

Add some artwork and there is your unicorn, hope its of use to a few for the real world.

By putting the Rose 160 inside the Chrome this does inflate slightly fatter than a 160 balloon would.
You could use the Purple 160 for the Unicorn Horn for a genuine slightly narrower
Unicorn horn and then use the end of the Rose 160 for the tail.

This one is a variation and the Unicorn horn is not fully inflated which I do like the look of.
You have to decide what way you prefer.

I did also make the feet a little smaller in this one as well.
