I was thinking of not doing a model of the month for December and just rolling over the Santa design from last months.

But from the reaction I got from those attending the Birmingham Christmas Balloon workshop day last week have decided to have the Reindeer hat.
Possibly simple but effective and I did make quite a few of these over the weekend at my Christmas gig so I do know they are popular in the real world.

I looked at the picture above that I posted and thought the antlers were a little big... possibly.
So made smaller on the tutorial, this is what will be in the complimentary packs with every order that we post out for December.

Here we go then with the instructions.

Inflate the Mocha 260 leaving 4 fingers un-inflated, you might want to pre stretch the balloon before you inflate.
Make a 4 finger bubble and then a 4 finger fold twist.

Make a 4 finger bubble and a 2 finger pinch twist, the antlers will fit here later.

Make another 4 finger bubble and twist this back down around the fold twist securely.

I make a 1.5 finger bubble at the end of the 260 and twist this back into the fold twist as well.

For me the band to fit around the persons head is generally a little too small and I have to stretch the band section so it fits snugly.
Just pull the balloon through your hand and this will lengthen the balloon for you.

Your hat should be looking a little like this.

Make a 1.5 finger bubble for his nose and tie onto the end of the 260 Mocha. Cut off the excess.

Push the nose up in between the 4 finger fold twist.
And pull the nose forward to the front middle section of the fold twist.

For the Antlers, inflate the Grey 260 leaving 5/6 fingers un-inflated.
Make a 4 finger bubble followed by a 1.5 finger pinch twist.

Then make two more 4 finger bubbles and twist them into the pinch twist.

In the first picture above I originally then made an 8 finger bubble for the rest of one side of the Antlers.
But think possibly a 6 finger bubble looks more proportioned. Do what is more pleasing to your eye.

I then make a 6 finger bubble and twister this into the Mocha pinch twist.

Make another 6 finger bubble for the other side of the Antlers followed by a 1.5 finger pinch twist.

Make two 4 finger bubbles and twist the balloon back into the 1.5 finger pinch twist.
You then need the last 4 finger bubble and discard the rest of the 260 Grey balloon.

Cut off the excess at both ends, then shock twist the Antlers a little to give them shape.

Your Reindeer hat hopefully will be looking a little like this.

Add a little artwork, you don't have to add the mouth artwork as the way the mouth/lower jaw looks this does possibly look like the mouth section. And in the real world would be quicker without.

I did actually add the mouth artwork when I was working a Christmas gig this past weekend.

I also made the Antlers in more detail and from a 160 Grey. I did have two Mocha pinch twists
at the top of the Reindeer's head as it gave the Antlers a little more support.

The one behind is not visible though.

Here are a couple of pictures showing the two pinch twists if you are making the Antlers with a 160 balloon.
