Well I'm hardly overqualified for this task but as Graham did ask for help here is my model of the month... hope someone sees some point in making it  ...or improving it!
It is a quick and fairly straight forward princess and as per Graham's usual process I will post the instructions towards the end of the month.

Thanks Martin, It reminds me of Les Dawson and those ladies that talked over the fence.
Yes... I should have added that this princess is far more 'pint-glass' than 'hour-glass'...lol
Ah, yes! "Cissie & Ada" - Flippin heck, you're taking me back, Graham...... :)
Anyway - just to clarify, are we to replicate Martin's princess, or do our own interpretation or is anything resembling a princess acceptable...?

Lol it looks like Graham in a dress
Here are a couple of attempts at a princess, the first looks very butch as she has no neck and the hair I feel was attached at the wrong point.
I do like the look of the rear of her hair though.
On this one we attempted to add a neck which possibly softens her look?
But the hair was still looking that it was attached in the wrong place.
So we decided to start again and the head is tulip twisted into a 360 and offset and the hair has a bubble coming out from the arm connection at the back of her head so making the hair sit further back on the face.
Very very nice princess Graham... Although as I am in control  of model of the month for February, here is where I was coming from with this model.
It is quite obviously not the prettiest princess you will see, but I think the construction method (mostly hearts and rounds) is quite interesting and it is also very very quick. I can make this princess in around 2 minutes if the stick on nose is left off.
So... I was looking for interpretations based loosely around the same contruction technique... sorry should've explained up front.
Between watching the football and other things we have been playing around with the idea of the hearts being the main dress.
I think the body and head are to long and thin but I made these first, next time I would start with the base as the size of the model is governed by the hearts.
I added the nose after some of the pictures were taken.
Hi Graham,
I have always found with making princesses that the face is always too big and it makes the face look fat. So i found adding a little neck less than half the size of the face, makes a perfect head.
I like the big princess.. I think the head size is perfect, in connection with the body!! I think it adds character to the model.
I love the hair, it sits very well on the head.
I will have a go at the princess later tonight.
I made this cinderella the other day, but I will try and make one using your body ideas, as mine was to go on a hat or wand. The head and arms are a 160.

haha, thats the first thing I thought of but didn't want to be rude ;)
I really like the hair on the big princess. All of them look great

You are very welcome to be rude Graeme... but only after you have posted yours
So carrying on playing today I put a smaller head and body on the heart dress and then a bigger dress on the first head and body I made yesterday.
Graham
That princess with the hearts is beautiful
Here is my slant on the model. Thanks for putting this up. It is reallt nice to make.
Your princess is adorable Thelma and your art work is as beautiful as always.
Thanks Twisteralla, I am not sure about the line unde the eye though. I was just experimenting with the penwork but that line looks a bit funny dont you think?
I think it adds shape to her face. My artwork always makes the princess or fairy that I make look evil, but yours always look so cute.
I also think the princesses look much nicer, more feminine (sorry guys) without balloon noses and with a nose drawn on like Thelma's.
Hey, maybe we should start a discussion on artwork as I think it can really 'make' a model.
Will you show one of your "evil" faces please so I can see what you mean?

I dont actually like the look of the dress made from hearts, it was difficult to get them sitting nicely for the picture.

I added the nose as per Martin's request to try and use his model as a tenplate.
I think it would make a great poatman Pat face with the nose added on :)
Some great models there..
I will have a go later today just been very busy. :x

I agree with you Twisterella, but on my model I don't think it's just the nose... I might add some tattos to the upper arm too
I actually think Graham's 'stuck on' nose looks fine... think it is due to the head being bigger and also no artwork on the face.
I must say I am also loving this topic, Graham and Thelma's models are pure quality and actually make me want to post my own version of my own model-of-the month. Which I may well just do.

Thelma what line is that then lol sorry couldn't resist however you can now compare the 2 i like without the line
Nice one Dennis! Now why didnt I think of that. I think it looks better without the line. I dont think it is a princess though. Just a toll or a good basis for a cheerleader it has been suggested to me. Might play with that one. Will post the result later if it works but just using the same model because Im working on instructions at the moment. head down then.
This is my version of Martin's princess. She has 3 tiers of hearts in graduating sizes for the skirt, a heart bodice, a heart bow in her hair, and a heart face. The heart face adds just the hint of a nose but I added just a bit too much air so the princess ended up with a fat neck.
Graham mentioned having trouble keeping the heart skirt from shifting position so I've included a couple of pics showing how I overcame that issue.
Love seeing all these versions of princesses! Ya'll have some wonderful designs!!
Bonnie, The Balloon Lady
Hi all,
Finally got some time to wip up a version of martins princess. I did'nt have enough hearts to do the layers of the dress. So I did the best I could with the amount of hearts i had. :)

She would make a good marionette doll as well with some ribbon and balloon sticks.
I was at a princess themed party yesterday. Here is my version of Cinderella (I am Princess Jasmine of course...)
You make a great Princess Jasmine Natalie! :D
Sweet. and the balloon princess is sweet too!!!!
This is one that I'll post for now. I have a few that I am debuting at Twist and Shout. After that I should have some more! I love all of the Princesses people have posted so far!
What an awesome Ariel - instantly recognisable. What type of balloon did you use for her head?
this was done 2 days ago for a charity sale. I learnt how to make this design at a seminar conducted by Ed Chee (tks) when he was in Singapore a few years ago. The base was Thelma's CD base (tks) . P1010465.jpg[/attachment:2mgqymcy]

Its late and my mind is foggy... so I can't remember if I've posted this one before in another subject or not. Either way... here is another Princess as a bride.
Patricia

Very Nice Bride.
Lovely Patricia.
Martin are you posting the instructions for the Princess?
Quote from: "Graham Lee"Martin are you posting the instructions for the Princess?
Yes, Graham. Apologies they may be a day or so after the month end.
I went over to see Lord Geoffrey yesterday and we started playing with the princess design as neither of us makes one in the real world.
This is pretty quick'ish, now just need to work out a feminine looking face to draw on.
Graham that nice, I really like the hair.
I had a eurika moment yesterday, so much so that I came running down the stairs to tell Lyn and she said oh yer :(
I've been thinking about the way I attached the head and neck to the princesses I posted earlier on this thread which is very similar to how Bonnie showed on her princess thread with two seperate balloons of different sizes. When working in the real world this would slow everyone up but to have a really bulky neck does not look very lady like.
The eurika moment worked at plan B which is these pictures and the neck is from the same 360 head balloon.
So if anyone fancies a guess on how it all sits nicely together we could possibly make it a little competition.
Martin will be posting the instructions for his princess very soon.
i'm probably completely wron but have you taken the hair and tulip twisted it through the head?
As i say I am probably wrong, very intrigued though.
Darren
You're on the right track with a tulip twist but not with the hair. I have pushed the hair between the face and neck to give her more of a prominent chin though.
