Don't think this is too bad as a 1st attempt.
I reckon I have 2 bubbles that Graham doesn't have and the consistency of the braid could be better too!
Oh and the ears... think he's been on the pop... not to mention losing his tail!
Martin,
If you've only just started twisting then that is an excellent effort :) Congratulations
Thanks Graham,
I just made a MkII of this which I am a lot happier with, should've waited to post pics of that one really as it looks the biz.
The only bit I still struggled with getting exact to yours was the tie-ing off of the final twist of the head.
Martin.
Can you post version two?
Here you go...
Hey P2K, I've got the same support at my home :D :D !!

My attempt - the eys look strange because I hadn't got a white 5" round - I should really have used a white 260 scrap I suppose
Here is my attempt - couldn't get the elegance of the neck quite right -but here it is...
here is dave go

Here are the instructions for the giraffe,
Mouth
Half inflate a chocolate brown balloon & do a 5 finger fold twist, repeat for the second fold twist. This is then followed by two 1 finger pinch twists.
Head.
Inflate a golden rod to 5 fingers un-inflated.
Attach nozzle onto the mouth then twist a 3 finger bubble, a 1 finger pinch twist, another 3 finger bubble around the mouth & the last 3 finger bubble around the pinch twist.
A 6 finger bubble then a 1 finger pinch twist, twist the next 6 finger bubble around the first pinch twist with a 7 finger bubble, top of head going around the second pinch twist.
The rest of the balloon is divided into two large fold twists for the ears.
Please note that I make the models with Sempertex balloons so you may need to slightly re-adjust your sizing for other brands of balloons ;)
Hat & neck
Inflate two balloons to 4 fingers un-inflated & tie both knots together, measure around victims head & twist together. Put a two finger pinch twist into each balloon to help support the neck & head, platt the neck till 4 fingers of both balloons are left & twist together.
Attach these around the ears on the head. Push a 2 finger bubble to the end of the balloons for the giraffe's antenna
Eyes
Inflate balloon for a 6 finger bubble & twist into two & tightly tie them together, twist the balloon so that it forms two small fold twists & push fit into the giraffes head
Tail
Inflate either a chocolate brown or goldenrod balloon to 8 fingers inflated & twist two 1 finger pinch twists. Then push a 3 finger bubble to the end of the balloon and attach to the back of the hat to hide the knots.
And finally draw on the eyes. If you do have a go at making the giraffe please post your efforts to encourage others to have a go.
OK - thank you, Graham. I was still puzzling out which end to start twisting from when you gave us these directions. I too preferred the face with the lips drawn on, and I gave her eyelids. Not happy with the artwork, though. Better next time.
The Q balloons are definitely too short. Am going to order S balloons next time, and am looking forward to getting 360s in S as well. BTW Graham, I have so admired the giraffe hat that is on BalloonHQ, and really wanted to do it, but it takes 350/360s. I was thrilled to discover there was a good one in 260s - so THANK YOU!
Cheers,
Kath 8-)
Kath,
The artwork looks good to me, especially the eyes. It gives the giraffe a definately girly look to me :D
here my quik attempt
