This football is based on an idea from David Crofts, thanks to David for letting me use if for a model of the month.
David originally made this back at the Sutton Care & Share balloon day.

It's made with two 260 balloons and you can add a 5" round inside to get more of a football look.
Especially using Black and White.

I will put the step by step instructions up as soon as I can.

This is the balloons that will be in the complimentary packs that we will be sending out with all orders in July.
Hope the football will come in handy, especially as its the Euro's over here in Europe at the moment

As the football is weaved there are a few ways to put it together,
I will explain two as trying to get clear pictures was a little difficult.

I would make with just one colour but so the design is clearer while explaining we have made with separate colours.

Inflate both Chrome balloons leaving 7 fingers un-inflated.
Make four 4 finger bubbles and tie into a square on both balloons.

Then make a four finger bubble in both balloons and twist these together,
this is the start of the "X" weave that joins the two squares together.

Then make another 4 finger bubble and secure around the other end of the first 4 finger bubble on the square.

You then need to make the second "X" weave, so twist another 4 finger bubble in both balloons and twist these together.

You then need another 4 finger bubble in both balloons and secure these around the second 4 finger bubble on the square.

Then make another 4 finger bubble in both balloons and twist together for the third "X" weave section.

You then need another 4 finger bubble in both balloons and this is twisted into the third 4 finger bubble section of the square.

Twist another 4 finger section in both balloons to make the fourth "X" section of the weave.

You then need the last 4 finger bubble in both balloons and deflate the rest of the balloons.

The ends of both balloons get tied into the nozzle section where you made the square at the start.
Make sure you tie these securely from the underside as this helps to hide the knots.

Trim off the excess and put a 5" round inside the weave to inflate and get a rounder shape.

I will add another way to make the football tomorrow that may be a little easier to understand
or might clarify things a little easier.

Version two for making the ball, hopefully this will make things a little clearer..............hopefully.
I usually make the ball in one colour but for the explanation two colour is easier to follow along with.

All the bubbles are 4 fingers and both balloons need to be inflated leaving 7 fingers un-inflated.
Make your square and then have two 4 finger bubbles and form a triangle on first side of your square.

Repeat again for the second side of square with two 4 finger bubbles.

Carry on till all four sides have a triangle section on them.

Then make another square from your second balloon.

You now make a 4 finger bubble and feed the balloon through one of the triangle points.
Then make another 4 finger bubble and attach this to the first side of the square
making your first triangle with your second balloon.

You now need another 4 finger bubble and twist this into the next triangle point of the first balloon.

Then make another 4 finger bubble and attach to the second side of the square.

You then need another 4 finger bubble to the third triangle on the first balloon and then
another 4 finger bubble back to the third side of the second balloon square.

Make another 4 finger bubble and push this through the point of the last triangle on the first balloon.
Twist the last 4 finger bubble and deflate the rest of the balloon,
twist this into the last section of the square where the knot is and tie securely.

Put a 5" round inside the ball and inflate, this helps to make the ball rounder.
I tie this into one of the joints so the knot of the round id hidden up.

Hope you work the ball out OK and the instructions were OK'ish to follow along with.

On this picture the squares are top and bottom and the "X" weave goes around the centre of the ball.

MrTim

Made this today, Graham. Excellent instructions - as always. I used the first method which was really straightforward, and I actually used two different colours the first time so it would be easier to follow. But makes a great football with only 2x 260 balloons.
