I'm going to go with two models this month, makes a change. I will post the instructions up over the next couple of days.
If you post one model you will be entered once into the draw to win a balloon modelling DVD and if you enter both your name will go in the hat twice.
Good luck.
Everyone is more than welcome to make the rabbit in hat and please post it here on the forum
Only those who purchased balloons from us in June can enter the competition to go into the hat to win the balloon DVD.
I changed my mind, we will only be putting the balloons in the orders for the rabbit this month. After I had worked out a great way to make the turtle nice and easily as well.
So the rabbit, inflate a black 260 and leave 7 fingers un-inflated. I made this with six separate 4 finger fold twists, a 4 finger fold twist is an 8 ginger bubble.
If putting onto the wrist of a child a 3 finger fold twist would be plenty big enough or possibly do with a 160 rather than a 260.
So then make five more 4 finger fold twists for the base, at the end I will show a variation where you can make the 260 into a top hat.
You should have a little left over as in the picture which you could use for his nose rather than use another balloon.
I prefer the rose nose and that is why I added the extra balloon into the packs we are sending out.
For the nose you can use a scrap of balloon and tie this gently, it will look roundish rather than an ear or pinch twist if you tied the knot tightly.
Using a rose balloon you can get 6/7 noses from the one balloon.
Pre-stretch the white 260 balloon to give you a little more length,
Inflate the white 260 and again leave 7 fingers un-inflated. Twist two 1.5 finger bubbles and pull the knot of the balloon over the centre of the two bubbles to form the two pinch twists.
Then twist a 2 finger bubble that will sit under the two pinch twists, a 3 finger bubble followed by two 3 finger fold twists for his cheeks.
Squeeze the air along the balloon a little and you then need two 6 finger bubbles for his ears and twist this back into the fold twists for his cheeks.
You then need a small 2 finger bubble for his neck and then a 1 finger pinch twist for the support of his front legs.
Twist a 3/4 finger bubble, two 1 finger bubbles and another 3/4 finger bubble for his front legs and feet.
I then deflated some of the 260 and left a 3 finger bubble for his body, this then attaches into the black 260.
I used the rose for the nose on this model but a black in the first post of this thread.
Attach the nose above the two pinch twists. Inflate the lower part of the 160, leave approx. 3/4 fingers un-inflated and have the orange balloon inflated approx. 6 fingers.
Depends how long you like your carrot really. I put a puff of air into the green 160 and only use about three quarters of the balloon as you can see from the knots.
Using the orange balloon tie the centre of the green 160 and cut off all the excess, we will use the orange excess to tie the tulip/apple twist in place.
Once you have tied the tulip/apple twist in place cut off the excess of the orange balloon and pull up on the green 160, this will pull the knot up into the tulip/apple twist and hide the knot.
Attach the carrot in your favourite method, it could go sideways like I have it here or if smaller the un-inflated 160 could tie into the black base 260.
The twists in the legs/feet of the rabbit hide up the joint in the carrot.
I used black for the eyes but I think blue might look nice, as they say only one way to find out ;)
Inflate the 160 for the eyes to a 2 finger bubble. I then tie the 160 on both sides, this makes it easier splitting the 2 finger bubble into two 1 finger bubbles.
Then attach the eyes around the cheeks, draw artwork onto the rabbit as required. I would use the rest of the 160 to attach to the base for it to fit around someone's wrist.
I prefer a puff of air in this than leaving the 160 flat.
So adding to the rabbit, if you wanted to make the base into a hat in the first picture I just added a 260 to the flower base which has the desired effect
or in the other pictures I just used one 260 to make the hat.
The one balloon hat close up in case someone wanted to try this.
Then the rabbit with blue eyes and in the one balloon top hat.
My attempt......
here is my attempt at the rabbit ive added my hat and the added bonus of ears , ive not been twisting long so this to me is an advanced design
Good to see some added extras.
I thought someone else posted the rabbit? Perhaps they posted it in the wrong section...........now I wonder where that can be?

Watch the Carrot!
Beware of the Hypno-rabbit!
Love big ear bunny and hypnotizing bunny. He hypnotized me with his eyes and stole all my balloons, then went back down in his cute black hat! :o lol
Graham, getting the amount of air in a balloon - is there a science to it, or just practice and 'feel'
Don't forget the competition stays open till the 7th July and we announce the winner on the 8th July.
So you can still win a balloon modelling DVD.

I was just adding up the entries and saw I missed replying to this, measure the amount of un-inflated balloon before you start twisting.
this way it's a good gauge for next time and knowing if you need to add or leave out the air in the balloon.
I have done the draw, just making sure the winner received the complimentary pack of balloons etc.
This month's winner it "Tiptop" congrats. Thanks to all who entered, we are running the competition again this month with the frozen princess wand as the design.
Details are here, july-competition-t9973.html (http://balloonchat.co.uk/july-competition-t9973.html)
