I was surprised when I was looking through that in all the years I have been doing
Model of the Month we have never had a Dolphin, that did surprise me.

So I went back to a design I made over four years ago that I posted onto Balloon Tube
and updated it and made a variation on a theme.

This is the Dolphin on BalloonTube from four years ago if you'd like to view the original design,

So this is the Dolphin we will explain for this month's model of the month.

If you do place an order this month then this is the complimentary pack of balloons you will receive to make the design.

This is a five balloon model of the month but you can make with four balloons if you did not want
to use the Ivory for the under belly. There is enough from the two Robin's Egg Blue balloons
to make the main body sections.

So inflate the Robin's 260 leaving 4 fingers un-inflated.
Make a 4 finger and 3 finger bubble for the mouth/nose of the Dolphin.

You then need two 8 finger bubbles and twist the second 8 finger bubble into the mouth/nose section.

You then need another 8 finger bubble and a 2 finger bubble twisted into the two
8 finger bubbles and then for the tail section a 6/7 finger bubble.

Inflate the next 260 Robin's and make two 2 finger pinch twists.

For the tail fins I made a 5 finger and 3 finger bubble and twisted into the pinch twists
and then did the same for the other side. Attach to the rear tail section.

The underside of the Dolphin I used an Ivory. Attach to the middle section of the Dolphin and then make an
8 finger bubble around the mouth/nose section and then an 8 finger bubble back to the centre point again.

The side fins I used a 160 Robins, inflate leaving a 4 finger un inflated section.
Make a 1 finger bubble followed by a 4 finger and six finger bubble.
Twist this around the 1 finger bubble.

Make another 4 finger and 6 dinger bubble for the other side fin.

I have made the side fins with just 5 finger fold twists and not with a twist in each fin.
See what style you prefer.

I then have a 1 finger spacer bubble and twist the 160 around the 8 finger 2 finger twist.
Then push the side fins into the centre of the Dolphin.

The top fin I have been making with a 6 finger and 4 finger bubble,
see what size is more pleasing perhaps to your eye?

The 4 finger bubble twists into the centre of the Dolphin and not into where the 6 finger bubble comes from.

I then have a 1 finger spacer bubble and a 10 finger bubble and then another 1 finger spacer bubble.
The 10 finger bubble pushes through the centre of the top fin and twists
around the 1 finger twist on the underside of the Dolphin.

This helps to bulk out the rear section of the Dolphin and to hold it all more securely in place.

The last 1 finger spacer bubble gets twists into the middle section of the Dolphin.
Hopefully the picture shows this more clearly than my explanation.

So there are two 1 finger space bubbles between the middle section of the Dolphin
and the 10 finger bubble that goes around the Dolphin.

Hopefully your Dolphin is looking a little like this?

Push the 2 finger bubble down into the centre of the Dolphin to get the curved look.

I always like to have the eyes in Black for some reason.
These are a 3 finger bubble split into two, there are a few twists between the 1.5 finger bubbles for
each eye so you have some slack to pull the eyes either side of the 260 top section of the Dolphin.
Push the eyes into place.

I like to shock twist the rear Dolphin section so the tail flows upwards.

And that is your Dolphin finished.

I forgot to say I prefer the 4 finger bubble to be underneath and the 3 finger bubble on top for the mouth/nose section.
