May Model of the Month (Push Bike)
« on: April 26, 2021, 05:36:47 PM »
I nearly had the Bike as model of the month for last month but went with the Snake as I was un decided.
Now for this month I was undecided again on having it as model of the month as well but sent it to a
couple of people and they both really liked it so here it is as model of the month.

These are the colours we are sending out for the Push Bike in the complimentary packs of balloons.
The wheels are Chocolate Brown as at the moment its difficult to get hold of 160 Black.

And the mudguards are slightly different again, I wonder which style I will explain, still pondering, he he.

Here we go then with the tutorial for the Push Bike, I'm still undecided on what mud guard
design we will add but for the moment this is the basic Bike and frame.

Inflate the Grey 160 leaving 6 fingers un-inflated.

Make two 1 finger pinch twists followed by another single 1 finger pinch twists.
You then need a 2 finger bubble and two more 1 finger pinch twists.

Then add the third 1 finger pinch twist.

The front forks I have done two 4.5 finger bubbles and twisted back into the three pinch twists.

Make a 5 finger bubble for the cross bar section of the Bike and then two 1 finger pinch twists.

You then need two 4 finger bubbles and twist these back to the two pinch twists.
Discard the rest of this 160 balloon.

Inflate the next Grey 160 leaving 6 fingers un-inflated again and attach to the two pinch twists.

Then make two 4 finger bubbles and the second twist goes thru the previous two 4 finger bubbles that came
down from the two pinch twists. This forms a triangle section where the wheel is going to go between and sit.

Now make another 4 finger bubble and twist into the other low section of the triangle, the peddles will sit here later.

You then need a 5 finger bubble connected to the lower three pinch twists at the cross bar.

Discard the rest of the grey balloon but use it for the peddles.
You will need a 2 finger bubble, two 1 finger pinch twists and then another 2 finger bubble.

Attach the peddles to the bike through the corner of the triangle.
These are not detailed but give the impression of the peddles.

I use one 160 balloon to make both wheels/tyres, inflate the 160 to make a 12 finger bubble.

Push the balloon up through the two 4 finger double sections.

The Bike wheel looks rounder with the joint at the top section under where the seat will be attached later.

Make another 12 finger bubble for the front wheel/tyre.

Tie the wheel/tyre together and cut off the excess balloon.

Inflate the next 160, leaving approx 6 fingers un-inflated.
Make a 2 finger bubble followed by a 1 finger pinch twist.

Then a 2.5/3 finger bubble and twist this into the top three pinch twists.
I find three pinch twists help the handlebars sit and look better on the design.

Then make a 2.5/3 finger bubble, a 1 finger pinch twist and a 2 finger bubble for the other side of the handle bars.

The rest of this 160 balloon I use for the seat section, make two 1 finger pinch twists.

We then need a 1 finger bubble, a 2 finger bubble and another 1 finger bubble twists into the two pinch twists.
I then half a 1/2 finger small bubble that we will attach later to the two grey pinch twists on the bike.
Discard the rest this balloon but use the tip end for the front section of the seat, make this a 1.5 finger bubble.

I like to do this so that we do not have a knot showing on the seat.

Attach the front seat bubble to the two pinch twists.
Then attach the seat to the Bike.

And that is your finished Bike.

I will have a think on the mudguards to explain and also half way through writing this I realised I posted
a different seat design at the beginning of the thread on the Bike......Oooops!

The way on the Bike with the yellow mudguards sits easier on the bike as the way I explained
can be a little tricky to get sitting correctly so I will explain that style as well a little later.

So a few Push Bikes with mud guards, it is a little tricky to add them and keep the Bike shape correct as well.

The Red bike with Blue mudguards, they are made with deep apple twists.
There is a joint behind the front forks so just the nipple end of the balloon is over the front wheel.

The Red mud guards on Grey Bike I attached an un-inflated Black around the tyre to hold it into place .
It did pull the front forks out of shape though.

The Yellow mudguards give the feel to the design and sit on pretty easily without pulling the Bike out of shape.

On the last Bike I made the front and rear forks a good 5 finger bubble so the mudguards had a place to sit
and the forks ended up still centrally in the middle of the wheels.
I added the extra section to the rear mud guard but that is in two sections and a thinner look.
Would take too long I think to make in the real world for line work.
