I was looking through some old pictures and found the Duck design and realised I had not had this for a model of the month.
With the loop around the body it is a little different to some of the other Duck designs we have seen.

This is what will be posted out in the New Year with all orders for January if anyone would like to make.

#1
Here we go then with the step by step instructions for the Duck.

Pre stretch the Yellow 260 before inflating to give you a little more length to the balloon when making.
Inflate the Yellow 260 leaving 5 fingers un-inflated. Twist a 4 finger fold twist and wrap the knot through twice to secure.

Make a 1 finger small spacer bubble followed by a 2 finger pinch twist.

You then need a 5 finger bubble and another 2 finger pinch twist.

The tail of the Duck is a 3 finger fold twist twisted into the pinch twist.

From this pinch twist you then need a large snug loop all the way around the body of the Duck back to the rear pinch twist.

Then make another 5 finger bubble to the front pinch twist.

Move the large loop over the head section fold twist, with the remainder of the balloon you need anther 1 finger spacer bubble, pull the end of the balloon through the large loop twist and tie back into the pinch twist. You now have two 1 finger space bubbles between the head and body of the Duck.

Pull the large loop back over the fold twist for the Ducks head so it sits back around the body of the Duck.
Then turn the two 5 finger bubbles sideways so you have one on top of the other.

Inflate the 160 Orange to about halfway, you can make two beaks from the one 160.

Make a 4/5 finger fold twist followed by two small 3 finger fold twists.

Attach the beak of the duck to the head section fold twist.

Make two 3 finger bubbles for the eyes. Push into position and then draw some artwork.

Inflate the Blue 260 leaving 6 fingers un-inflated.

Make two 1.5 finger pinch twists followed by a 20 finger bubble.
This might vary for you as the Duck needs to sit comfortably onto the Blue ring.
If you make the ring smaller and then you can stretch the balloon through your hand to make the Duck sit nicer.

I have the pinch twists slightly off centre so the reeds are not hidden behind the Ducks head.
Friction twist the Blue ring so it looks a little more oblong shape to match the Duck.

The easier way to make the Reeds is to cut a 160 in half and then inflate each half to between a 4/6 finger
bubble depending on how much of the Reeds you would like to see above the body of the Duck.

I have a 3 finger un-inflated section and then tie another knot in the balloon before I cut off the excess.
I like to have a knot on both Reeds at the top for symmetry.

Tie the Reeds together and then attach to the two pinch twists on the Blue balloon.

Place the Duck into the ring, if this is for a display you could use a couple of glue dots to hold the Duck in place.

I did upscale the Duck into a 350 design and made a little group photo display as well.

I hope the design is of use to a few.

A little advert now, www.theballoonartistesguild.co.uk
If over the years you have used a design or two that I have posted and would like to help out with the running costs etc
then I have started "The Balloon Artistes Guild" which is where I am posting all my new tutorials.
Model of the month we are still carrying on here and will be available for free as usual.

On the subscription website for 2022 we have over 50 designs.

And we have just started to post for 2023 and at the moment have 4 tutorials posted and then 9 designs on my DVD 9 that is also posted there.

Any questions then please get in touch and ask away, or if you would like to join,
