I was planning on knocking the model of the month on the head from the last one in October. Not many attempt the model section and now just seem to post alternatives that they have made previously, this is not a problem, in fact it's nice to see variations. It does take a while coming up with new ideas for this section and posting the full instructions, anyway I got a very nice PM from someone on the forum and have decided to run it till next month, the end of the year, so just two more to go. This is the very belated November challenge, I made this at Thelma's this week when we were twisting for a few days, lucky that Vicky, Thelma's daughter asked us to make a racing car for someone she works with. I thought this was pretty quick'ish and OK for a model of the month and then I got that nice PM so here it is, I look forward to some making it and please post variations but maybe make this one as well  :)  :D  Thanks.

This has been an very interesting challenge and my end result looks more like a boat or a plane than a car, LOL and I am almost ashamed to post it.  I tried doing the car first but when I attempted the wheels, I just could not get them to look right.  By the time I figured it out, the car was shrunk beyond use.  Next attempt, I did the wheels first.  In any case here is my try at it, I know that the instructions to make it properly would be lengthy, but maybe you could post a picture of the underside, and a closer one of the back end.  Thanks Graham, this one has been fun!!!

Can I please cheat and ask how many reds you have used in the model.

Thanks

Kim

Kim, I hope you aren't asking me cause I used far too many.  I think I used 3 260's, 2 or 3 160's and many many 360's before I got the hang of the wheels.  Plus white and black scraps.

That was the first time I made it, so I think it was 2, 350's black, 1, 260 white, 2, 160 red. 2, 260 red. Not sure I took any other pictures, off to look now though.

I had the X faxtor on tonight and thought I can't sit and watch this for two hours so was watching and making a variation of the car.
This one has a slightly less complicated rear end and I filled in the front section with a 160. And as requested a picture of the underside.

I then went onto plan B as I was looking for the front wheels to sit a lot straighter.

On the second picture the car on the right, you can see the front wheels are pushed forward at an angle, I tried adding extra pinch twists but it looked too bulky.
I added a small section in front of the V so that the balloon axle was not pushed forward by the main body, I think it worked nicely and adds to the look.

Here's my attempt.  Was a bit confused with all the different photos - just realised some were the bottom of the car!!!  But confusion is easy with me at the moment!!!
Anyway, who else is going to have a go??

After all those photos, I just have to try it again.  Thanks for the underside Graham!!!

Here come the instructions, front spoiler inflate the White 260 only half way as you will not use much. Make a 3 finger bubble followed by a 1 finger pinch twist and then another 3 finger bubble twisted around the knot of the balloon. Do the same to complete the other side of the front spoiler. I use the rest of thw White 260 to go across the top of the rear spoiler later.
