I'm never too sure if we should put easier or harder challenges on for the model of the month but looking back not that many seem to attempt them so for this month I'm putting an easier model on that I think is very usable. If you do have a go then please post your efforts as it might encourage others to have a go as well :) Thanks.
great motorbike Graham...I can't wait to give it a try :-)
For some reason I have my doubts that this is one that I came up with, if that is the case apologies to whoever.
It may also be a variation on a theme, not 100% sure.
I was looking through my picture files and found this one for May this year.
I think the two blue pinch twists above the front tyre may look better in black as it would add to the front tyre effect and complete the black circle, just a thought.
here is my motorbike Graham, thanks, I like this one alot

come on lets see some others have a go?
Perhaps we could get a few variations as well :D
Here is a version of this one
Was playing today and came up with this. Its not perfect but has potential.
Can you give us a clue to what size that is Roger? It looks nice to me.

Wow.... this is great.... will it pass MOT?
as far as Graham's coment about the sizes.... maybe we should be putting something next to the model just for the size reference. like f.ex 2 littre coke/water bottle... that is pretty much in every house...
Had a go at this months challenge!
I added a front light, and missed some pinch twists i think. But I'm very pleased and will have another go with better colours and light!
Danny

My attempt. Please excuse the lack of rear wheel it popped just as I was about to take the photo and I couldn't be bothered to remake it.
I have done many things wrong but am pleased it kinda looks like the picture but am looking forward to the SBS so I can see how it should be done ;)
Hi Graham.
I am still waiting for broadband but had a bit of time on the wireless network today. Here's a bike i made a while ago it's definitely my favorite one.

I thought the idea was to copy exactly...OK, next time I will see what I can do differently.
For now, here is my "copy":
I like Tonya's. It looks like it is made of 260's and that you could get it out of two main balloons. Initially I thought I could make the larger/360 one out of one black and one blue, but, alas, no. I am quite frugal, so if I use this design, I think I would scale back to Tonya's size. They are both definitely more elaborate than the current motorcycle I make in restaurants. Thank you for sharing!
I love your new one Pinchtwist, and Roger...yours is very cool too. Great variations. Thanks Janet, yep..I used 260s (I think that's what Graham used too, isn't it Graham?). I like your 360 one though, bigger is cool. I don't mind using bigger balloons...usually it's just one extra to upscale it, and makes for a bigger "wow". Thanks for sharing yours, I'll have to give it a try :)
Following your plea in another thread, Graham, I have now been sitting here for 1 1/2 hours, balloons of varying hues surrounding me (some burst, some so totally out of sync with themselves as balloons they are going into therapy) and still I haven't come anywhere near close getting as far as the handlebars
I might try again, but not today! Or, I might wait and see what physical and mental tort.... , er, challenge gets put out for October's 'Model of the Month'
See you in Southport you worker of latex miracles.
Congrats to everyone else, though - I get greener by the balloon!
Dave
Dave, thanks for trying and posting what went on with your attempt, when we meet up at Southport Thelma and I will give you a one to one if that is possible with three people on how to make it :D
Well, daveandrews, you may be struggling with balloon sculpting, but I see you are a very accomplished magician as you won the People's Choice award at Kidabra. Congrats!!!!! :D Impressive! 8-)
Thanks, Janet - magic's my 'thing'. That and vent. balloons, now they are different matter. I must say, however, after one of Graham's Care and Share days, my interest has increased and people standing inline, or at a birthday party, think I am the best thing since sliced bread :|
Graham - I'll stop by the stand, and if you wouldn't mind, I really would be interested, if only as an 'exercise' !
Thanks,
Dave
My variation - this one made with 360s. It only takes 4 or balloons (4 with 260's or 5 with 360s), so not bad for busy events.
Not my design but originally viewed on youtube I think, sorry - can't remember where to credit original artist.

Dave with you it's always a pleasure and never a chore, looking forward to it :D
Not only is this man insanely in love with everything balloon, he is a smooooth talker as well!
Thanks, Graham - see you there.

Here's mine, not happy with photo, but looks good.
I like the Motor Bike very much !!!
Would someone please post a instruction for the motor mike please !!??!
Thank you very much !
I am not able to twist the motorbike without a instruction :-(
Yes the instructions are late going onto the forum as I'm away working in China till the 10th Oct. I will try and get them on when I get back but expect it wont be till at least a week later as I need to catch up with everything that I've missed since being away.
Could you not have a guess at where to start the bike and take it from there, it would probably help you grow as a twister as well.
I would start from the two pinch twists above the front tyre and if you look at all the other bikes posted this could possibly help you as well. Good luck and please post your efforts
Hi Graham and all other Ballontwister,
here is my first attempt of the 3 balloon motor bike.
I hope you like it.
Greetings from germany,
Marc
Marc :D I thought you said you would not be able to make this without the instructions?
Pleased you had a go, it looks good to me.
I really pays to have confidence in yourself and your abilities. Great job, Marc!
And here comes a motorbike with driver (Teddybear).
Here are the instructions a little late but as they say better late than never :)
Inflate both balloons leaving six fingers un-inflated, with the goldenrod twist two 2.5 finger bubbles and twist together.
Then twist a 1 finger bubble and then a 2 finger pinch twist which will be the front light.
You then need a 3 finger bubble followed by a 1 finger pinch twist for the bottom middle section of the frame. Another 3 finger bubble and a 1 finger pinch twist for the rear light.
Twist two 2.5 finger bubbles for the rear inner wheel which are twisted back around the rear light pinch twist.
You then need a 3 finger bubble to double up the rear frame twisted around the pinch twist for the middle frame section and then another 3 finger bubble for the front tank section which is twisted around the front light pinch twist.
Discard the rest of the balloon.
Now with the black balloon twist two 1 finger pinch twists and wrap them above the two 2.5 twists which are the centre of the front wheel and wrap the black balloon around these two bubbles snugly to become the front tyre.
Twist a 3 finger bubble for the top of the petrol tank and twist around the middle frame pinch twist. Twist another 1 finger pinch twist into the black balloon here as this will help with the shape and overall look of the bike when finished.
You then need another 3 finger twist for the bottom of the rear frame section twisted around the rear light pinch twist and then a 2 finger pinch twist for the seat. And finally wrap the black balloon snugly around the two 2.5 twists which are the rear inner wheel.
So to finish up inflate a silver 260 and twist a 2 finger bubble followed by a 1 finger pinch twist for a wing mirror and then twist a 3 finger bubble around the front light pinch twist.
Repeat for the other side of the handlebars with a 3 finger bubble, 1 finger pinch twist and then a 2 finger bubble.
Discard the rest of the balloon.
Thank you very much for your great motorbike instruction Graham !!!!
I like your motor bike very much !!!!
Marc
You can make the bike from just two balloons if you wish, the lime balloon needs to be pre-stretched and with 7 fingers left un-inflated. You start with one of the handlebars and have two 1 finger bubbles between the two bubbles that are for the inner front wheel and the front light pinch twist so that you use only one continual 260.
With these pictures I have also turned over the petrol tank so that two bubbles are on top and the rear frame so that two bubbles are underneath. This way the rear tyre fits more snugly between the two lower rear frame bubbles and give the bike a different look.
The only difference between the two bikes is that when you add the black balloon as in the second picture there are
three small 1 finger bubbles above the two black pinch twists on the
front tyre instead of two as on the first bike. The difference is not noticable on the pictures.
:D
Our hedgehog on a motor bike :-) funny, isn't it !?
Hello, Graham,
Just wanted to let you know I have had GREAT success with this motor bike design in restaurants, so I am hereby publicly declaring that I owe you a meal the next time we meet. I have scaled it down to use 260's and have probably made 100-200 by now. Thanks for the great design! Quick and effective ($).... :)

Thanks Janet, It's nice to get some feedback, made my day :D I'm well chuffed now.
Here it is again, Better late than never. Here is my attempt. Back wheel a little flat as it had a slow puncture
here is another motor-bike for the gallery.
was trying to remember who was the inspiration for this motor-bike design and it finally came to me - Billy Damon. Thanks Billy!
I know this is an old model of the month, but I just had to give it a shot.
I am pretty happy with it. This was my very first attempt. I have been making a very difficult
motorcycle for many years now, and since it takes so long, I reserve it for very special occasions.
This is much easier and I like the way it turned out using 350's.
Wow, your's looks so good I wanted to try it too. For some reason mine is too long but my husband said its a racing bike, lol. Thanks for continuing to pull up these posts Rainbow, I will watch and try to keep up with you. (Still beats that darn parrot)
Dear Fun,
So glad to have some company with some of these older posts. I got a great chuckle out of your comment about that darn parrot. I didn't think it was all that bad, but I do two other parrots a lot of the time, and this one wasn't all that different.
I am looking forward to the company.
Thanks.
years later :)
Really unsure if this is meant to be for this year...but here goes.
xx
Daisy, I don't think it matters about the year - just the attempt at making the model. It's cool to see them pulled back up to the top of the thread. I had forgotten I tried this one lol.
My second try on the bike, the first time I did too much air in the colored balloon.
Used a black 160Q inside a silver 260Q for the handlebars.
Nice bike and very nice photography.
