Knowing what a talented bunch you lot are I am hoping that someone will be able to help me out with some tips on buying stilts.

Not sure if I will take to it yet so I don't want to spend a fortune but there are different height stilts and I am not sure whether the shorter ones would be tall enough to work on (I'm 5' 6.5") or whether the taller ones would be too tall to learn on? Don't really have the money to buy both at the moment especially not with the marketing I have planned for this year too!

Any pointers would be gratefully received.  ;)

Hi Yvonne,

instead of spending money on stilts why not get some lessons, for example at the Circus Space or ask Becky at Balloonatic for some names. Then you will know how to walk on stilts safely and they will be able to advise you on the best stilts to get.

There are a couple of different styles of stilts - pegs and Durastilts.

hope this helps

Angela has already offered to help me out with using them but to be honest most of the stilts go for similar 2nd hand to what you can buy them for new so I am happy to buy them and sell them again if I can't get on with them.

Cheers Kev.  Saw your message but was out most of yesterday so haven't had a chance to respond.  It would seem a friend has a pair she bought to have a go and has yet to so it looks like I may have a decision already  ;) Going to make her an offer on them and get practising once all this pesky snow and ice have gone completely.
