Well not exactly, but had a great night out at Zippos Circus with the legendary Norman Barrett MBE. Anyone remember his amazing budgie act??

Great balloons Darren, and I bet Norman loved them  :D

Many, many years ago I had the pleasure of working with Norman at Savas Club in Wales, when George Savas hosted a huge Variety Club Childrens Party every year. There was a gang of entertainers, and whoever was featured at the club made a guest appearence.

"The Chippendales" (a hunky male dance troup...for those that have led sheltered lives !! ) were top uf the bill, and there was also Poz, Wallygog the Wizzard, sadly no longer with us, Myself and Norman with his Budgie act and his Flea Circus.

We were all in the same run of dressing-rooms, and had great fun, Imagine how proud I felt when the lady bringing refreshments around for us popped her head round my dressing room door as I was changing and asked "Are you one of "The Chippendales" !!!!

I swear she was being serious , but the others think she was either mad or blind  :D  :D  :D

Thanks Darren, you bought back memories of a great show and working with a lovely guy. By the way "The Chippendales" did a very tomed down dance routine .....the kids were quite indifferent to it bur their carers went CRAZY  :o  :o
Kind regards
Kevin

Hi Kevin

What a great story - thanks for sharing. I believe Norman is 79/80 years old so I still have plenty of time to work on my act.
