Hi, i have never attempted to make something like this, but can picture 2 ways of achieving it.

Both methods would use a weave to create the saucer, Guidos Weaving DVD shows a fruit bowl/plate that he weaves which could be modified, making it flat from the centre out, with a slight upturn at the end should give a Saucer ish appearance. Similar to how a vase of top hat might be started.

A Teacup would be similar to a fully weaved vase or hat, with a more curved figure, and a handle added to the outside, again Guido shows a Beer Glass that could be made 'curvier' to create a Teacup design.

Hope this helps

I have just found this profile of Guido

http://www.dutchballoons.nl/guido.html

It shows both his weaved hat, and his fruit bowl/plate.

Im thinking though that his hat could possibly pass for a cup and saucer if a handle was added and again it curved more.

wow his hat would make a good cup & saucer with some very minor alterations & the added benefit is that you could also wear it.
Well spotted that man.

Mandy has sent me over the picture from David's website but due to copyright I can't put it directly onto the site & at the moment David's site is down due to too many people looking at his site. Something to do with bandwidth.
David having just moved & had the arrival of there first little one is rather busy & has no internet connection at the moment so it may be a while until he's back to normal.
Mind you after the birth of there first child don't tell David but nothing will ever get back to normal

OK David is a friend & hopefully he won't mind us putting it up till his website is back up & working.

Billy, Your cup looks very similar, just proportionally a lot bigger
