I have been asked to make a Bride and Groom for a wedding but the Groom will be wearing a kilt, below is what I have come up with so far, the legs will be blush and then black shoes but will do complete once I'm happy with design.
Please all feedback will be gratefully received

I like it but it looks more checked than Tartan if you get my meaning.  Perhaps try using 160's with the tiniest puffs of air in (like on one of Bonnies latest CD's) to weave through to create the different thickness lines in the tartan.  I am not sure how realistic this suggestion is so if not possible please just ignore me  ;)

what about some un inflated balloons to make the kilt?
you would use more and get more colour?
or even a mixture of both

As its only a parody I think the kilt is fine and they will love it, because you have done it just for them.

But the diamond clear balloon as as the sporron!!! sorry it looks like a condom to me! Can you not use a different colour?

I don't have the CD myself but I beleive it was Graham that made the cheetah off someone's CD and used a balloon with a puff of air in to do round the eyes.  Not sure where it is on here nor if I am making sense

Looks really good, may I ask do you know what Tartan the kilt is of, there are a fair few but have particular colours. It may be an even better job if its in the 'correct' colours if you get what I am trying to say  :o

Dave, I think you have the right idea for the weave but the wrong size of balloons.  If you use 160s (stretch them really well after inflating them to thin the diameter) you will be able to get more weaving in the same amount of space.   You would end up with 5, maybe 6 horizontal rows depending on how thin you stretch the balloons and what looks best on your groom.

If I were doing this project I would make all the vertical bubbles black, then use black plus 2 different colors to do the weaving. (If you have 5 horizontal rows, then the center row would be black)

One other thing, try varying the bubble sizes used in the horizontal bubbles.  Instead of trying to make all the bubbles in a row the same size, make one large, one small, one medium, etc... Then just keep the pattern when you make the next row.  That should eliminate the checkered look.

I hope this makes sense. lol
Happy twisting,
