I was having a play this afternoon with the latex as you do sometimes, not sure why but decided to play with a car design.
I made five with varying success, it evolved, in order of how they were made.
Two I think needs adding to at the back and then may turn out OK, I started off with 160's and then went on to 260's.
The first car needs to be narrower, but with out car one the rest would not have been made.
A few more of the cars I made this afternoon. The one with the driver, the steering wheel section was too long so gave up before I finished that one.
I also made a car today, the one from 2 years ago from 'model of the month'
These are mine all together, the car worked out well for you Alex.
I was pleased with it, thanks for the great instructions Graham
Just looked at your car again Alex and I think there is a red layer missing and the engine starts too far forward, mind you I made a few variations on a theme.
Nope, I take that back. It is just the variations I made. Perhaps I should go look at the one I posted on the thread. It might be different to the two I posted here.
This is the thread if anyone would like to have a view and maybe try to make the car as well. model-the-month-november-2012-formula-racing-car-t6212.html (http://balloonchat.co.uk/model-the-month-november-2012-formula-racing-car-t6212.html)
:D I had a go at the scooter too :) got frustrated with the brake though :x
It's just a deep tulip twist, twist a small 1 finger bubble and push that inside the balloon, you can then manipulate the ball further down inside the balloon.
OR just put a friction twist into a 160, I think that would do the job, friction-twist-shaping-t1092.html (http://balloonchat.co.uk/friction-twist-shaping-t1092.html)
yes, i did the deep tulip twist, lost it, tried again, lost it, then the kids came home so gave up! :D
very nice ! I really like it. :)
can't wait to try one, with a bit of art work added.
thanks for sharing
I haven't posted any pictures for a while so here is my F1 that I did a few weeks ago for a charity raffle, it rained and rained and rained...but kept smiling and trying to twist whilst holding a brolly...pity there were no pictures of that..looked like a soppy..............but was for a good cause!
So from the car I made with the 321 and hearts for wheels we have now moved onto these using 5" rounds for the wheels,
Nice Cars Graham!! ;)
I think at the moment i am using a mixture of them all, always a popular design for the boys, and Dads!! :D
I made a few cars today while looking through the master copy of the David Grist memorial lecture given by Thelma on 2nd July.
These are the other two from today, the first one the wheels are too small. The clear was a round on the first car and a heart on the second.
I like the clear on the first car and the wheels on the second.
Quote from: "Thelma Levett"I like the clear on the first car and the wheels on the second.
SNAP, so do I. The clear on the first is the round, gives a more pleasing look to the eye, well we both think it does anyway.
So I had another play with the two parts of each model that I liked and then added a little extra,
I made another car, similar to my racing car on model of the month but I was playing with using round balloons for the wheels/tyres.
One of the car designs came up on my facebook page saying it was from three years ago.
So I thought I'd have another play with a more quick and easy car for the real world.
So the car evolved a little in the pictures and I did not look here before I started to play.
The second one has an engine area and also the back section slightly separated for more of a racing car shape.
All are just two balloon designs.
We then made the top rear spoiler wider at the top and added an
extra pinch twist for the steering wheel to sit better.
Very cool Graham ;)
I was playing the other day before a gig, as ya do. This is a teeny tiny racer(linework), for the little ones :D
I made these during the week but have not had time to post them.
Just some variations on a theme, the wheels are a 350 and not 260.
Another variation.
Then using a 350 for the body and 160 for spoilers, which does not look right to me.
I made the two balloon car at the balloon workshops this week in Airdrie and Halesowen.
So today I up-scaled them to a four balloon car made from 350's.
Made them in the real world today and they went over VERY well.
The two balloon car and it up-scaled with 350's for the body and wheels
and 260 for the engine and steering wheel.
