Hi
I like all of them. some great ideas for Christmas.
Thelma on your one round balloon snowman, how did you attach the nose?
How tall are they? it looks like a 5inch round is that right?

thanks Twisty

Thanks Dave I saw your was a sharpie, but Thelma has a balloon for a nose. That was what I was asking about. I think she uses a glue dot but not sure.

Aint no glue dots there !!!. It involves insertions, inside out and prayer.

What is Thelma using a raisin to hold the nose on? it does not appear to be as the face is not deformed.

So I got up this morning and my ears were burning.  I don't look in every day so if anyone ever wants to ask a question and I dont answer please pm me so I dont seem to ignore you.  Well I thought I should put a Christmas Post on the thread and saw I have not posted my mistletoe so will do that in a moment.

Snowman's nose.  I have no idea what this technique is called.  I sat and fiddled and came up with it because I was never happy with the nose attachment.  But I am sure it is a technique already in use.  I don't like using glue dots.  They are unreliable.  So this is what you have to do.

Inflate the tip end of a 160 orange balloon to the size you require for the nose.  Tie a double knot at the end of the bubble.  This works with a 5" or 10" or 12"  Just scale the nose to the size of the snowman you are making.  Stretch the lip of the round balloon open and put the orange nose inside.  Inflate the round balloon and (HALF TIE) the lip.  You will need to deflate the balloon in a moment.  Twist the balloon to make the head and body bubble and look to see where you want to attach the nose.  Catch hold of the double knot at this point through the skin of the balloon.  Just like grabbing any raisin knot.  Secure the knot and then let the head and body unravel.  Deflate the round balloon and turn it inside out.  So now you have the orange nose on the outside of the balloon. Re-inflate the balloon and make the snowman.  You will have a nose that is attached with no apparent knots showing.  Very neat.  I use this techniue a lot and it is quite quick to do.  I even use it with a 360 but it is a little more fiddly to do.
