Not sure the title of this thread is correct but I was playing with the plane design
I really liked that we made at the London jam this year with the help of Susie Hillman.

I really like the look and feel of this plane but have always struggled to re-create it.

So had a little play last night and again this morning.
I think I have spent a couple of hours tweaking and adjusting different bubbles, balloon sizes etc.

I have taken a few pictures singularly of each plane but thought I'd start back to front here.
This is what my front room looks like with all the other balloons I have been making recently as well.

The front left was plane one and back right plane seven.

So the plane started out with two 4 bubble sections and the back tail in a 260 as well.

The back part of the wings were connected into the tail section,
on the Ivory plane above we had a spacer bubble so the front and
rear wings looked distinctive with one set sitting above the other.

I had 3 bubbles for the rear section and two bubbles for the front.

Not sure Red was the best colour to photograph these in?

I then changed the size of the balloon for the tail section from 260 to a 160
and added a third bubble under the cockpit section.

We then moved the two 260 bubbles between the tail from horizontal to vertical to see if
it would all sit nicer, the plane slightly bent in the centre behind the cockpit.

We also went back to two bubbles underneath the cockpit.

As we had quite a lot of the 160 balloon left I thought we might be
able to use this to support the body section of the plane.

We also went to only one 260 bubble in the centre of the tail plane.

As the wings are more under the cockpit with the 160 balloon now in place this
gave us the perfect adjustable position for the front of the wings.

The tail section is generally not all the same size and positions differently from the
top section to the side sections. So by going back to two bubbles we could move
the side section about as we did for the front section of the wings.

I also added the spacer bubble underneath the rear wing of the plane.

We then got rid of the rear space bubble.

With the two 260 bubbles in the centre of the tail it looked too chunky
so went for a single bubble with two pinch twists.

It still left us with the top and side of the tail plane in separate joining places.

We then got rid of the second spacer bubble near the back of the tail.
I added a slightly larger pinch twist so the top section went over the top of the
pinch twist to give the look of connection in separate places.

I also started making it in grey.

So from start to finish this has taken approx. two and a half hours.

I'm reasonably pleased with the look at the moment but no doubt will change again.

So a little thought, and possibly I should not say or mention this but hey ho
sometimes one has to stick ones head above the parapet as they say.

When you see a finished design posted, sometimes it has taken that person hours to work it to the finished
design that they are happy with. Occasionally it's first time lucky but those are few are far between,
well they are for me.

So if you do use a design that someone has posted onto balloon chat or more likely facebook then
perhaps you could send a PM or comment on the post thanking the person for coming up with the design.

It is going to help you out and hopefully earn you a little money when out and about working.

And then perhaps if they do have a DVD for sale and you are using two, three or four of that
persons design it might be nice to purchase it from them as a little thank you and
also mention that to them. I'm sure they would be very pleased to hear from you
and happy that a few designs they have come up with are being used by others.

There you go, a thought for the day.

I made a couple of simpler planes today,
I did not like the proportions of the first one so made version two.

The cockpit is from a 350 scrap.
