I thought this would be a nice place to create a new flower topic, instead of posting my flowers in the may challenge.
I played with the flower desing from Graham (model of aug 2008) and the one that graham posted for Mandy in the may 2008 challenge.
These are the results:

As some of you may know my area was hit by a horrid ice storm resulting in thousands and thousands of us losing all electrical service.  I was without electric 8 days the first time, then just a short 5 days after it was restored I lost power once again due to a wind storm for another 6 days. Anyway, during this time I worked on some flower and vase designs (by candle light lol).  I hope you enjoy the pics.

The pink daisies and yellow sunflowers arrangement is what I started with.  Then I found a flaw in my design... The 160 stems that I had used couldn't hold up the larger flower heads after only 3 days.  So I replaced the stems with 260s but then found that there wasn't enough room to fit them all back in the original vase and had to divide them up into two separate arrangements.  I like the pink and yellow combo better than just the all pink or all yellow ones.

Next I worked on some jonquils (daffodils). I used the stems to make the base.  The base wasn't pretty but it was fast and functional.

The tulips are a design I've been using for a while now but this was the first time I've tried to make a vase out of just a round.  The round I used was an agate type and I found it very difficult to do the tulip twist with this balloon because of the extra thickness of the balloon.

After the tulips I played around with some pink flowers.  I really like how the pink one (file name: pink01) turned out however the vase I used in that arrangement was much too large considering how few flowers I had in the arrangement.  The vase should have been done about the same size as the one done in the pinkgeo03 pic.

The next flower I worked on was a dahlia. I was particularly pleased with it, but I should have added more 'filler' balloons to the arrangement.

With the pink and purple flowers I was trying to get the center 6 point star to extend into the petals.  I didn't succeed but liked the flowers anyway.  I liked the vase too because it was simple and sturdy.
