Title: Horse variation
Post by: Ronballon on August 08, 2008, 10:02:40 AM
I'm twisting at a horse contest next Sunday.
But I know just a view horses, the standard horse and the horse Patrick made last year during the TMJ.
I have made some more horses but I don't have a nice but a bit quickly horse.
I will make a lot of horses Sunday I think but I would like to have some more variation.

Some ideas would be great.

Can you put pictures up of the one's you already know? So that it will help others.
I make a nice ride in one, dont think I have any pictures so will make it later on to share with you.

Just found this unicorn & I'm sure I put a large pink unicorn on here made with 360's.
Just done a search & nothings come up :o
Will hunt through somer more pictures to see if I can hunt it out

Ronald,

You could make my larger horse in a mocha-chocolate-black mix or a fairytale like white-pink-lilac combination.
Also you could just make the head and stick it on a stick or basic hat.

Another idea is making a ''sea'' horse...
Zebra, donkey are variations too...

Sometimes life is strange, there I am having got everything done that I needed to today & I had 30 mins free before needing to get ready to go off to a magic club tonight so I thought, lets see what dvd is in the computer to watch. It was Patricia Bunnell, so I played from the last scene & the very next design was a horse hat.
So made it up & here it is, not sure about the 160 around the head, may look better in a more contrasting colours or by having the two small fold twists that represent the ears in black or chocolate?
If you do use the design don't forget to buy a copy of Patricia's DVD ;)

The last one is very nice Graham, I can work with that one.

I made some horses around the waist of my childern.

Well I just play a bit Sunday; it will turn out just fine I think.

Greetings.

Ronald

Don't forget the Bettalatex Doll Body horse head for a large impressive figure. I just joined and haven't yet learned how to post photo, but an example of the horse head is on my website at http://www.laughsbymodine.com/index.php ... ry=&page=2 (http://www.laughsbymodine.com/index.php?portid=10434&perpage=15&category=&page=2)
There are other examples out there in cyberspace as well.

You live & learn. The horse head looks nice made from the dolls head, I have a bag of those so will have to have a play.
Modine, thanks for the heads up on that.

Thanks Graham. I am so excited...(the sad thing is...I am not joking     ) using the different shapes open up the making of more challenging of models for line work, I understand.

Thanks again.

This is my current horse. I use the Clown Head shape from Sempertex. It's great fun. Mostly I make it as a hat. I gave the legs movement, many thanks to Patrick Van deVen for the concept!

Enjoy,

Patricia

It's really hard to follow Michael's post with this but here goes...

Playing around with the horn twist (I don't know what people are calling it). I saw some folks doing it in the jamroom at Twist and Shout this year and am just now getting around to playing with it.  I had a few of them lying around the house I decided to turn one of them into a unicorn. Based on Patricia's horse. I used a heart for the head and a round for the torso. The tail is a deep tulip on a 350.

Is that a pig's tail I see in the lower left corner?!
