Disney has a new show about pirates based in Neverland. The bird (Scully) who's friends with the main good-guy characters is Scully. He's a parrot, seen here:

Here's my first attempt at is tonight:

I wanted to add more green forehead which I did here:

I rolled the knot too far forward on the second attempt so the beak is too long. I tried to re-tie it shorter but could make the knot.
Regardless, I think I'm partial to the first one.

Qualatex doesn't have a goldenrod heart. To get that color beak I stuffed an orange heart inside a yellow one. Where I tried to retie the knot on the second one you can see where I roughed it up a bit in my attempt.

Those are really wicked!! I love them. Could I ask What type of marker you used for the white, I've tried a chalk pen with no success?

I use Deccocolor paint makers. That one was a little dry but they generally do a good job.

Cool! You've just cost me a biscuit!

I told my 4 year old I'd let him have another biscuit if he could guess the balloon - he got it in an instant. If it passes the kid test, then it's a good result for me ;)

And here I thought I was the only one who used their kids for a blind quality control check!

Whenever I am working  on something new, I always show it to each daughter separately and ask them what it is. It only goes onto the "approved" list if both recognize it instantly without hesitation.

My 5 year old daughter loved the post of Scully.  And now, of course, she has requested I make all the other characters too.

Well I did my version (to be honest yours was a perfect example Withatwist so couldn't improve on it   ) I just added him swinging through the trees as most of his pics showed him like that.

They were more than happy with it anyway! Thanks for the inspiration.
