I made this on Friday as my tribute to the Queen.
I did not post onto the forum straight away as we were having work done over the weekend and the plan was for the site to go back to 1st August.
They managed to sort the site without doing that and it's now safe to post again onto the forum.

I did take a few pictures as we built the design. Version one had too many pinch twists for my liking, so we popped all the top
section and started again. Plus the top section was a little too short for the curve to fold into the centre smoothly.
On the next version I made these bubbles to the centre of the crown longer, which is picture 3.

Added a few more jewels, the bottom of the crown did sit nice and flat as in the picture until we pulled the top section down later on.
I would possible do the lower White section diamond weave in a 350 next time, to bulk it out a little more.
The plan all along was to sit this onto a white 350 for it to look more elegant and Crown like.

Nearing the finish, I should have taken a few more pictures as I built it... oops.

#3
Once the centre of the top of the crown was pushed down to the bottom central section it did pull the lower supports up and
I did attach more supports inside the crown to try and counter balance this effect. They went from the Red jewel next to the
Purple rounds down to the centre of the lower section with the 10 supports. It did help a little but not as much as I was hoping for.
I would make completely different if I was to make this again. Which I will as I want to over come this design problem.

You can see how it was pulling the bottom section up in the pictures.

Then it was onto making the letters, the R was version two as trying to get the curve and proportions right.
Then putting it all together, the top section of Crown is 5" Purple balloons, my camera makes them more Blue for some reason.

I was always going to post this with the Black background as I based this design from a picture I saw which I will post next.
We tried the Red just to see what it looked like... I have always found Red is tricky to get a good picture from.

This is the picture I saw that inspired me to make the design.

This was the picture I used when I posted onto Facebook, it was from my phone as the background looked darker and the Purple 5" balloons did look Purple.
