I sat in and watched Guido making the heart out of 12" links at the NABAS show last week so decided to have a play with the idea.
At the London jam on Tuesday night I tried to make it from 260's but got a little lost on the constructions so decided to sit quietly at
home and use 6" links so that I could get the construction down.

I then moved onto making it from 260's. I did add an extra bubble to the top centre section.

These are very nice. How long did it take to make the larger of the 260 hearts?

Only about 5 minutes Ian, it's pretty quick once you have the mechanic's sorted.

I did it out of 260 some time ago. Here is the "normal" heart version and the one with some little funy additions

I had another play with making the heart as its been a few years since we last made it.
It was made for a challenge over on The Balloon Artistes Guild Facebook page
where there is a balloon challenge going on set by Rob Driscoll.

This was my entry for the day.

I have done a little research and the 3D heart design is credited to
Colin Myles and Niko Fric from around 2001/02.
If you have not looked up and seen any of the balloon work from either
of these two then please do so as they are both excellent artistes and
both have Facebook pages to view their work.

The reason I mention this is that I will be putting some pictures up of how
I made the heart and I contacted Colin to make sure this was OK to do.
I have been told my design is slightly different to how Colin constructed
the design way back so you might want to find Colin's 3D heart as
you may like the look and shape of his heart better.

A few pictures that hopefully will make it easier to see how the heart comes together.

I use 17 bubbles around, the outside.
all were 4 finger except for the top centre one which was a 2 finger bubble.

I tied an uninflated balloon to bottom centre bubble, you can just about see this?
Then twist the white 260 into the next twist along to the right.
Make five 4 finger bubbles and attach to the fifth twist from the bottom centre bubble.
And then five more 4 finger bubbles back to the starting point.

You then move to the second twist along on the right from the bottom centre.
Attach another 260 and make another five 4 finger bubbles and attach as per picture.
Then make five more 4 finger bubbles and tie in to starting point.

For the next 260 you need three 4 finger bubbles.
After you attach these make three more and attach to the starting point.
I forgot to get a picture here, oops,
but hopefully you will see from the next two pictures when we do the next row.

The next row is also three 4 finger bubbles at the front twisted into the top of the
heart and then three more 4 finger bubbles for the back section of the heart.
