In Nippy's review thread for Masks, I mentioned that I've tried this monkey many times and it's always turned out, well, rubbish.  It's a great design, just I've stuggled with it.  So I tried again this evening after a couple of advice pointers/tips from Darren and here it is.  I'm not entirely happy with it, it will do, basically, but it's much better than it was thanks wholly to Darren's help.  Thank you, sir!  :D

Neil,

Are you nuts! There is nothing wrong with your monkey at all. It's really good and the eyes are looking great. The only thing I would suggest and that's moving down the pinch twist slightly that holds on the ears so that they are straight. Give this to some kid to wear and you know just how good it is.

Don't be hard on yourself - it is REALLY good.

Out of all the designs I've made from this DVD so far, the dog is by far my favourite and the pirate is number 2.

I may try another tonight!

Well done.

Since we are posting masks, I made this one as a caricature of David Brenion at twist and shout this year.  He lost his microphone cover so he stuck a sponge ball on the end during his lectures.

If you just want to make the monkey for a party, it's great as is. After yesterday when the kids  began beating each other up with their dinosaurs and spiders, I wouldn't worry too much about the fine detail in certain settings. It's always a little worrisome to show things to your peers in the industry, though, isn't it? Good news: we're a friendly group here to encourage each other.

I love all of them, but as a non-professional I don't know that I would have the occasion to make many of them.  Geez, I do love balloons though and enjoy the challenge of trying stuff like this so maybe..............

Looks great, Neil! And Brian, your mask version of me was one of the highlights of T&S for me.

Thanks David!!!  I have short, unsustained bursts of creativity! LOL.  All kidding aside I love all your work and the professional, organized way Shana and yourself handle your lectures!

Thank you, sir!  It is a fantastic DVD, as are all the Nifty Balloons ones I have, and I'd have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone.  Here's hoping there are many more to come!  :D
