Balloonytoons

After a day of nothing going right I finally managed to make this.  This is my first ever dress, pretty basic but better than I thought my first attempt would be. I only used the mixture of greens as I had loads of them, didn't try and do a particular pattern, think that may be the aim next.
My step-daughter Chloe (in the picture) was really pleased with it.
Would love to hear any comments and suggestions.

I've never made a dress so you're one step ahead of me! It looks great well done!

The vertical bubbles are all good and small so making for no gaps between the rows which sometimes happens. If you put a few more vertical balloons onto the dress then the horizontal layers would be smaller bubbles making for a more rounded flowing overall look.
Thanks for taking the time to post  :D

Thanks for the comments  :D I really enjoyed making this and yeah after looking at the finished thing I thought it should have more vertical balloons so the top bit could be a better shape as that is pretty straight.
I'm also thinking now that I may make the next one with the top and skirt sections more separate,m I think I may be able to achieve a better shape this way.

My first dress was actually the first ten, was a presentation of shoes he wanted, ten dresses Balloons.I was nervous, I was paying before, and I did not know if you get something worked a week to ten dresses

Wow they are great. I bet they went down well.

I have now been asked to make a big bright dress for a pantomime dame, I have a while to brush up but I was wondering if anyone could give me any pointers as to how to make dresses that can undo or are easily taken off and on. And any other pointers really?

Hi Balloonytoons

What a great dress. With a few variations it could easily pass as a Christmas Tree. Perhaps add some gold/silver 5" rounds for baubles and some other decorations. Add some battery operated LED lights and this is the sort of thing any panto dame would wear at a Christmas Show.

Failing that use the same design, add some extra vertical balloons as per Graham's suggestion and then just go for the most colour and hideous colours you can find. Bright yellows, pinks perhaps some neons as well.

Is this dress actually for a panto this year?

Would love to see your effort.

Well done

This was just my first attempt.
The dress for the pantomime will be a finally dress so it will probably have to be a lot bigger and brighter. It wont be till the end of the year so I have lots of time to practice.  I'm thinking big shoulders and really wide skirt. Maybe a ball gown type with matching hat.
I'm loving the idea of the led lights I haven't thought about that before.

I like the dress too, did you make it over the top of a 'dummy' or just freehand? I haven't yet had the courage to try one, but I really like the way you've not just stopped at the dress! The look is completed with earrings and a bracelet too.

I made it on my step-daughter, although I don't know that she's much like being called a dummy lol.
Think I'm going to need to get a dummy to do the next one though.

Well I thought I would be brave and post pics of my first couple of dresses. Not up to a high standard yet but I am pleased with the result.
