just one suggestion Thelma : perhaps you may wish to make the two folks good a bit younger... (give him some hair) ...it's only 60 ! (lol)

Where do I start?  Well Normski I have been calles "special" before but I dont think it was a compliment :D
Nk It wasn't a 60th Birthday but a 60th wedding anniversary.  I was sent a photograph of the couple and did the models like the people.  But thanks for the suggestions.  I always like suggestions for improvement.
Caroline, nice to see you posting!   Thanks to everyone who posted nice comments.  I am not going to confess how long it took me to make.  Put it like this - its embarassing.

Now all we need is peopke to post some more numbers.  I have the ones I did for the 40th party so I suppose I should add them to this thread although I have posted them before.  Makes sence to have them on this thread though.  Now where is that 40 photo.........

Last Friday was my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary. We were staying there for a few days and I made this and left it in their lounge to find in the morning when they got up.
They liked it I am pleased to say, enough that they had various pics of themselves taken with it and then had it in pictures of them and all the grandchildren at a family get together on Sunday.

That is so effective and it looks like it would be a lot quicker to do as well.  I am not surprised they were pleased!!!!

I decided to have a to at a number (the same number actually) using this technique.  It was well received.

I also made a 40 (didnt take a photo before Vicky dashed off with it unfortunately)  But I used the same weave for it.  However, Instead of using round balloons to till it I used a 660 balloon.  I inserted the un-inflated balloon into the woven shape and then inflated it making sure the end was always going into the right place as it inflated.  It filled the weave beautifully.  I did use two round balloons for the up and down cross of the 4.  The rest of the filling was done with just two 660 balloons.  Very quick and I think cheaper than using rounds.

Great idea using the 660s instead.  How long did it take you to do the 50? I really like that design :-)
