At Twist and Shout Martin showed me his entry for the three minute competition which was a shark, I was rather taken with this and made a few variations until we ended up with picture two.
This is Martin's shark,
and my variations on a theme, picture number six was my first attempt, picture number five my second attempt and picture number four my third attempt.
For some reason I numbered these in reverse order..oops!
Picture number three is my 4th attempt and then I made picture number two last night. I rather like the shark.
Shark labelled number 4 is my favourite :)
It looks like a buster balloon shark cross!!
To be honest, i think kids would find it hard to make this one out!! :ugeek:
I quite like the third shark in the second picture of the fifth attempt in the first day.

That made me laugh :)
I saw Grahams shark on Thursday and had a go, wasnt too happy so did a better one today :)

Do you have a picture Kenny? I have seen the big shark hat and the one made I think from a heart. Cheers.
Thelma made a comment about not liking the shark I made at Blackpool, this is the one. So I decided to play about with shark designs this afternoon.
Not sure I have gotten anywhere yet though.
So here are the first couple I made,
I thought the first one was pretty bad.
Possibly getting better?
And them all together from last night,
So I was having another play today, the same design just with added teeth. I like the look with out teeth but is uses two raisin twists so not practical for the real world.
This one is probably a real world shark to make, 3 grey balloons and then scraps for eyes and teeth and it all holds in place Ok as well.
Still don't like any sharks I have seen. That includes any I made too. Never been totally happy about any of them. Suppose I had better have a play too.

I made this one yesterday but went out before I could post, for a 2 balloon shark I like it. Would work in the real world.
Over to Thelma to see what she thinks ;)
Actually it's not bad for two balloons. One of the things I don't like is spending time on a model and feeling it's not right. Very doable.
Having another play and I like this shark, it looks similar to others but is constructed completely differently and the mouth will open and close into any position you like.
So that is a bonus as well, I moved the position of the side fins on picture two but it does not show very well.
I like it too Graham, i am going to try it out in the shopping centre on Sunday, i will let you know how i get on!! :)
Hey Graham, I only had a couple of hours in the shopping centre yesterday, but i did make a few sharks, i did not take a picture, as most of the time pic's are not allowed in there, but your shark went down a treat with both boys and girls, nicely engineered and easy to make, all in all a great real world shark sculpture ;). Where your ears burning Graham,? cause i was bigging you up, with credit for this one!!
Hats off to you Mr Lee. ;)

Thanks Kenny.
Yeah! at last a shark that looks like a shark without being too long in construction. Thats great for working Graham. Love the mouth opening and closing like that too. Another play element. Thanks for showing it.
I had a play with a shark design again yesterday, I added the lower mouth section
after as it looked a little odd.
I made a couple more sharks.
Trying for a different mouth.
The first picture does look a little dolphin like.
Drawing the teeth on, not too keen on any of these last few sharks.
Another version.
Another variation I made the other day.
The sharks together, still looking for one to make for the real world.
I think shark picture 16 is the up-scaled version from 350's.
Trying to put some teeth onto them, the diver being eaten.
The teeth do not sit right for me,
I did make a shark in the real world yesterday and fitted them into different
positions on the mouth but it still did not work. So last night I came home and
had another play and have the mouth moving and actually biting you but
with no teeth, that might work? I will try later as I'm gigging again this afternoon.
I think I have a shark I rather like now, it was those teeth that were a challenge.
Changed the head structure a little and added Ivory to the underside.
A two balloon shark, if you were to draw the eyes on the pinch twists.
I added the scraps, this might be good for those doing line work?
Someone mentioned a cartoony shark and sent me a design,
we then went off at a tangent and a play.
I'm not a fan of any of these at the moment.
All together then the last one above seemed to be asking for a mouth section to be added.
Then it did not look like a shark.
Still playing with the shark, moved eyes about and then added
an extra balloon between the head and body.
Playing with the shark design, it was this picture from my
portfolio from Aug 2015 that got me twisting here.
And we came up with these.
And yes I agree picture three is nothing like a shark.
Trying to add teeth.
The Cartoon like shark in Reply 35
~I really like that one. I'm sure that it will grow on you
More sharks, trying to add teeth to the design.
This is the BalloonTube shark that I upsized with 350's.
I did change the tail fin a little as well though.

I changed the position of the lower mouth on the last picture,
makes his mouth look a lot larger and open.
I just happened to have a mermaid laying about from the other day.
Made me smile.
My latest shark.
More sharks, the front section looks way to bulky to the rear.
I split the teeth in picture two, off to make another version.
The proportion is still not right, second picture is getting there but still needs work.
Playing around with another shark idea.
