I have never made a Spiderman while out working so was having a play after I saw a YouTube clip by Michael Floyd with a basic Spiderman and he was swinging on a 260, worth looking up as I think it was a worker in the real world. So having a play I forgot that Spiderman does not wear a cape. Oh well could be superman. The second picture was Michael's 2 balloon Spiderman, and the third is still 2 balloons with a little more detail.

The first picture his arms look way too meaty in the 260. I changed it to a 160 in the next two pictures with the head just being made with a separate 260 piece.
Next time I must remember to Google what the super hero looks like before I start playing, no cape........oops!!
With a blush head and features drawn on this could be Superman, maybe.

Yes I was making spider man and was running a 160 balloon down the back and wanted to put a space bubble in so that not all four balloons joined at the same place and it looked a little cloak like so I added it without realising he does not have one. It must be my age and they look better in the flesh so to speak, I think my camera was playing up. At a magic convention with Thelma tomorrow so I reckon we will have a play with this design. Yes Batman would work well I think, anyone like to try? and he does have a cape/cloak.

Spider-Man is one of the simpler-looking superheros. He really doesn't need to be overthought too much. He was conceived to look like an everyman kinda guy, so if you build him up to comicbook like muscle proportions you actually lose the characterization there. That Twistina design is really nice. Michael Floyd's simple design also nails the characterization, IMO.

I do think some of those designs would work really well for a Superman, however (even though the colors are a little off for him). In that case, exaggerating the muscles and body tone can work :)

Yes I take your point, sometimes less is more.

This could be a Batman like body? How to do the head? In the US they have new 5" Batman prints so that may be a way to go.
The front and back but a little difficult to see.

That body would work for Batman. I really hate the printed heads, though. For Spider-Man or Hulk, it's not a problem to draw the face on. Batman is a LOT harder, mainly because of the ears... I liked Cody William's Batman head, but it's not really fast. I also really like Mark Byrne's Batman that you posted in the massive Twist and Shout thread. I don't know how that's done, so I can't say how quick it is or isn't.

I guess if speed is the name of the game, the printed heads work, but I really hate them. I don't think they are representative of an actual head in the same way that something like the Alien or Monkey prints are, ya' know? It's like the difference between an image of a head printed on a round balloon, versus the image of eyes, nose and a mouth printed on a round balloon.
