The fun begins today --- I teased a local news station about needing Evan (a reporter) to wear a giant Leprechaun head (http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid= ... =1&theater), well, they didn't say NO...

So, I am going to go down and give them a giant head creation and see what comes of it.  I am trying to not expect them to use it during their reporting, but I wouldn't put it past them (crossing fingers) --- they like to have a little fun!  If anything it will get some laughs at the station when I drop it off.  Wish me luck!!!

Fantastic Nat, hope you get a lot of publicity out of it  :D  :D  :D

Here is the display for today, the one for tomorrow will be exactly the same except they want a pint of Guinness instead of the crock of gold

Not sure how to do that yet....I may weave it out of 160s, or use a 646 tulip twisted with a geo for the head.

Prob go for the 646, as it will look cleaner, and I can draw the Guinness harp and lettering on easier......and I hate weaving :?  :?

Evan never saw the post on the Facebook page, so I took him by surprise when I tossed the trash bag to him!  LOL  I had to pull it out and show him --- and he was laughing most of the visit.  I commented about something to wear for reporting in, but not being required to wear it, and he sounded as if he was planning on wearing it --- should be fun to see what comes of it.

He also asked about up coming events I will be twisting at.  I told him, we could do a short recording at a Farmers' Market and then maybe try to setup an interview where I can do some more sophisticated and unique creations.  He loved the idea of spreading it out over a few days if needed.  I knew he has been interested, this just gave us the opportunity to talk about it and this was by far the most complicated creation he had ever seen from me.

2 notes about the creation:
1.  Do not put a pinch twist on the top as it pushes the hair back behind the skin --- it is there, but not visible.  I thought a pinch twist would help hold it in place better.
2.  Light green doesn't make the best hat, dark green looks much better!

Love the Leprechaun Kevin - I am taking it that is a heart you used for the hat?  I like that idea much more then the hat I used for mine!

Hi Nat,

Yes, it is a heart for the hat. the nozzle of the heart goes through the centre of the hair/head, and ties on to the nose from behind. Then a 260 is wrapped round for the brim.

PS I've just see your frog clip on youtube....made me really laugh out loud....thanks  :D  :D

Hi Brian,

Of course you can use my design. You are lucky I just saw this post, as I am just off to deliver it !!

I have just taken a couple of photos to show some of the construction details. I'm going to deliver it now, and have a few beers and see a friends band, when I get back I will post them and go through them for you.

Be back soon  :D  :D
Kind regards
