Thanks all.  I actually found a tutorial for the hat online.  I'll post a link to it if I can find it again.  I'm looking forward to seeing yours when it's done Patricia.   :)

Wonderful job!  I love the detail - the blankie is a really nice touch and I love the "dirt" surrounding Pigpen.

My client (who's also a good friend of mine) asked for a Cat in the Hat centrepiece that would somehow incorporate Fish in the fishbowl as well.  I initially intended for Cat to sit on top of the hat pedestal while holding the fishbowl but I soon realized that it would make the whole piece way too tall.  So I scrapped that idea and had Cat hugging the hat instead and I put Fish on top of the hat (as you can see).  Stuffing that chubby fish into the 11" clear was a bit of a struggle.  The version you see in the pictures was my second try.  I realized (after my first failed attempt) that you have to cut the nozzle off of the round balloon in order to have any luck at successful stuffing.

I love that you used the polka dot round for the body.  Cute!

I made this Princess Peach parody for a seven year old Super Mario Bros. fan/birthday girl over the weekend.  I tried to talk the mother out of ordering a Princess Peach (Are you sure your daughter wouldn't like a Yoshi balloon instead?) as I wasn't sure I could pull it off, but I'm glad I made the effort.  The birthday girl just loved it; which made my day.  :)

Thanks for your comments and private messages as well.  :)  I think I will send a little note - I also like the idea of tagging myself on the photos.

On a side note, I'm glad all was settled with you nippy99 - that's great!

Balloon Chit Chat / Question ...

Question ... if you found pictures of your work on somebodies Facebook page - actual pictures, not other artists replicating your work (which I'm totally okay with and do myself) - would you contact that person and ask them to remove them.  I know they're my pictures as I watermark all of my pictures in the most obnoxious way I know how.

I guess my problem is that the pictures are posted as if they are the other artist's own work and not referenced in any way as somebody else's photo.

Anyway, I just wanted to see what everyone else thought.  Are pictures put out on the internet free game?  I haven't contacted them yet as I'm not sure if I am completely overreacting.

Thanks in advance for any advice.  :)

Thanks everyone.  :)

Yes, Balloonim I used small Link-o-Loon's for the floor.  I also twisted in 5" water-filled rounds on the underside of some of the connections to give it some weight.

Instructions for the bear can be found here:

This is one of those pieces where I wanted to make something simple and it just kept growing.  I had to put my pump down at one point and just walk away so I would stop adding things.  Initially I was just going to make Pooh with a honey pot, then he needed a friend, then a tree, then the tree needed apples and a bee hive, then the hive needed not one, but three bees .... You get it.

I'm happy with the way it turned out though!  (Not happy with the amount of time spent on it).  It was the first time I've used link-o-loons in a base as I usually use geo flowers, but I think I will use them more often as there are so many more attachment points.  Anyways, thanks for looking!

This is what I made for my son's 2nd grade teacher on his last day of school before Christmas holidays - I delivered it this morning.  Thanks for all the inspiration everyone - as you can see I pulled a lot of ideas from pictures on the forum.  :)
