Hi Twistina,

I'd like to add my support as with everyone else. I certainly look up to you and your work, I love seeing what you do on here and FB. I also have this PDF (and others of yours) and yes, it can take a while the first time you make any of your designs, but once you've mastered them, they should take no more than five minutes to make. I use the 'Hello Kitty' 'Meerkat' and Dinosaur' regularly.

Quote from: "Graham Lee"if not I will send him/her an invitation to join and then they can join in with this thread, they may find it interesting reading.

Unless I've missed something as haven't read in full all comments on this topic ...... I think he's already a member and reading this topic with his comments: Quote: "I honestly believe you should be ashamed of yourself and stop using your emotional sensitivity/fragility as an excuse for poor business practice and customer service. "

Please keep up your fantastic work and stick to your guns.

Wishing you well,

Looks great Martin, love the colour scheme you've chosen. Some great comments above.

Have you thought about 'Justifying' the text? Below is an example of what I mean from your home page text.

Balloon Chit Chat / Re: Qualatex/Sempertex Websites

Quote from: "Graham Lee"I'm also very happy to plug any event or charity you are trying to help out with a mention and link on the news page of the forum

This is obvious a dig at me Graham.

I really can not say thanks enough for ALL your (and of course the Balloon Chat members) help with the charity work I'm involved with. With your help, I was able to take 'an unpaid' five week tour putting smiles on 1000's of kids with my magic & balloon shows.

However, being involved in so much charity work does have its down sides. I'm obviously now expected to pay over the top postage fees and just accept it. I also get so many calls from other companies as well asking for free shows etc, because they've helped our charity, not just the 'Make A Smile Appeal' but also the 'Chernobyl Children's Lifeline' charity I was chairperson off. If I said yes to them all, I wouldn't earn a living.

In the past six years, I've spent £1000's from my own pocket on the charity tours etc. For example, with fund raising events last year, I managed to raise almost £5000 to pay for all the expenses for my five week tour to Belarus and Ukraine. But it still wasn't enough so I put over £2000 out of my own pocket. So forgive me if I decide it's time to try and save money by not paying excessive postal charges.

You said a while ago that the £9 for a single DVD was to cover the postage and packaging. Well the postage with Royal Mail is a maximum of £1.09, so the envelope must have cost £7.81.

You asked for comments regards postage. I've brought from other dealers in the past who had postage charges on their websites. And when it came to them arranging the postage, they refunded some via paypal as they actually thought the cost was too high. Now that's good service. You mention giving a bag of balloons if ordering a DVD; to me, that's admitting that you feel the cost is too high.

Quote from: "Graham Lee"there is also the free advertising on the forum.

This is kind of you to offer, however, I've never had a single phone call from it. If you want to take my advert down, please do.

I'm sorry my comments are not positive, I'm just not happy that because my charity has been helped in the past, I'm 'expected' to shut up and say nothing!!!

I'm sorry guys, all I'm asking is if anyone knew where I could get this DVD. I already have a good supplier for my balloons, and I don't have the urge to go to any care and share days (as good as they are).

Hi Nippy, I agree, the DVD probably is worth £34, however, I still disagree with paying £9 for the postage of just a DVD. I'm not asking for an extra bag of balloons, I'm looking to buy just the DVD. No other company charge anywhere near that amount for postage of something so light.

Hi Ben,

I had a similar problem a few years ago and eventually worked out what it was, it was the type of balloons I was using. At the time I was using Sempertex, and then started using Qualatex and it went away, then when I started using Sempertex again, it came back. Now only use Q's and have no problems since. I think it has something to do with the type of powder used.

Maybe try a different brand, it might help. At the time, I was trying everything from different soaps to different hand creams etc, it drove me mad until I worked out what it was.

Good luck. :)

A great idea, could be a good game to add to the 'comp' section :)

I've also tried various balloon bags over the years. I eventually made a table top balloon box and the after that a full length version. There's photos and a discussions here balloon-box-t816.html?hilit=balloon box

I made them three years ago and have never looked back since. It has always been a huge talking point while twisting. People talking about the balloon pictures on the sides etc. I never have a problem with kids touching the balloons as I always have funny lines to stop them. It's on wheels so I can push it around, so suitable for just about any venue. I've never used a bag since. It's also a huge advert while working. :)

I've had quite a few twisters ask me about selling them. After Christmas, I will be making a few new boxes for sale, full size and table top size. If you're interested, send me a PM.
