A little experiment as part of my wife's birthday recently. (Actually, I bought her a car, and this was gifted by one of our sons to her on the day.)

Inspired by another thread... //http://balloonchat.co.uk/bunnies-rework-suggestions-please-t4409.htmlI saw the potential for a much nicer 2 balloon lion than the more complicated one I usually make...

For those interested, here's a quick step by step as each design progresses...

Hi all.

Ed Chee came to stay with us last year, and he really opened my eyes about how fast a really good twister can be.  While I don't advocate that a fast twister is better than a slower twister, I feel all of us would like to be faster than we are, and that we become better by getting faster.

Since his visit, my time per sculpture has easily halved if not more so, to the point where I have closed a line off with what i thought was 30 minutes to go, and would have finished in about 10 minutes if i didn't make things more complex.

Duplexing (tying two balloons together with one knot) and redesigning older designs so they can be made with a duplex is one of the key tips I am now actively using.

What else have people noticed has increased their speed, or even slowed them down? :ugeek:

Have been trying to make some new hand designs, particularly ones that suit the incredible hulk, but one attempt ended up looking like a little bird.  I added a beak with a puff inflated heart, and a quick nest, and it turned out quite nice, despite being pretty simple...

What do you think?

ALTOONA, PA—Following the fiery derailment of a 56-car Ringling Bros. circus train Wednesday, hundreds of clowns, somersaulting acrobats, ringmasters on stilts, stampeding giraffes, and monkeys in colorful hats were seen fleeing the accident, which investigators stressed was a very serious matter and in no way funny.... {Read on}...

Need to work on the legs and the batbelt though...

Picture Gallery / DNA Helix Weave
July 05, 2011, 08:57:50 AM
Have been asked a number of times to make a DNA Helix, and think I have 'almost' perfected a quick fast Helix Weave.

3 Balloons, takes about 4 minutes to make a metre long spiral, it's not exactly a Helix as green 160 in the middle zigzags instead of being  a ladder shape.  Any suggestions welcomed...

Picture Gallery / Lotus Flower Design by Charles Dolbel
February 23, 2011, 07:34:52 PM
Have been working on a simple version of a lotus (water lily) for a while now.  Seems to be complete now, two white 260's, , one green 260 and a scrap of yellow...  It also floats of course...

Picture Gallery / Wearable Truck Costume - Fast version
November 05, 2010, 09:59:31 PM
Had a request for a commissioned wearble truck for a Truck Drivers 50th birthday party.

Came out ok, as it was a rush job, and went more for size than perfection.  There are two big loops at the back for it sit unassisted on the recipients waist, plenty of room planned for...

Could be easily adapted for a fast truck cab with smaller balloons than 350's.  The cab was open, and filled with a fully inflated GEO donut, was a quick way to make the windscreen and sidewindows, plus the lime green and black tinted window look seemed to be a good contrast...
