Balloon Chit Chat / Newspaper Interview!
April 23, 2011, 02:59:57 AM
First off, I wish to thank this forum as I used the interview a balloon artist to figure out some information to throw at the reporter prior to our interview.  The reporter wanted to interview me at a twisting event, so I wanted to make sure if I was distracted, that the reporter would still leave with some great information no matter what.  The interview a balloon artist questions helped and the reporter greatly appreciated it.  So, thank you very much for that element of this forum!

So...  the newspaper article was actually quite flattering to me.  I never expected a large story, but when I got the newspaper to my shock and amazement, the article took up 3/4ths of the Lifestyles page (the second section into the paper).  1/3rd of the front page was a massive picture of me twisting for a child (as a friend said --- your lifesize in a newspaper!)!  The report was actually continued into a small area on the second page.  The funny part is they used a picture of mine for the second page, so as such, doesn't this mean I am now a published photographer!?!  :D

Anyways, enough of my excited chatter --- here is the article link:  //http://helenair.com/lifestyles/article_ec17b32a-6c93-11e0-a48c-001cc4c03286.html

Oh --- and apparently I go by Mister Twister!  I didn't know this, but it sure is a catchy name!  I like that better than the generic balloon guy.   I think I might end up adopting this name unless I can figure out something better.

Thanks again -- -and enough blabbering.  I have been running non-stop all day and enjoying the celebrity status.

Picture Gallery / Gymnastics Competition Creations
February 12, 2011, 07:05:40 AM
I hope you enjoy my creation attempts.  The creations were used to decorate the judges' tables and later given away as trophies to the winners of the specific events.  I learned a little about gymnastics while figuring out how to make the creations.  Enjoy and forgive any event misspellings...!

Please forgive the poor faces on the creations - ran out of time on the creations.

I was absently doing stuff around the house when I heard an advertisement that caught my attention.  I was unable to find the preview online, but I found this:  http://tv.msn.com/tv/series/the-unpoppables/  Don't know if it will be any good or not --- but I saw balloon twisting.

Welcome / Hello from Montana (USA)
January 10, 2011, 07:35:26 AM
My name is Nathaniel and if I was to rate my ability, I would probably list myself at intermediate.  I started up balloons in the mid 90's learning from my father, but never went far beyond basic one balloon creations.  Last summer (2010), I started up ballooning at Farmers' Markets inspired by creations I found on youtube.  I found a big demand and as such, I have officially bought a mass collection of balloons and many DVDs to help expand my knowledge (10-15 dvds now?).  I love ballooning and I love the children who are waiting for the balloons.  I have been blessed with children who are patient and polite.

I have two major goals for next year...  1.  Go to a balloon jam in the states (probably T-Jam in Idaho) and 2.  Design my own website that has a professional appearance.

Next two DVDs I plan to purchase (Christmas money):
Angels and Ballowers and Bearoons, Oh My!
& Oodles of Lootles

Thanks for this forum and I look forward to browsing from now on as a member.
