Balloon Chit Chat / Long time - no balloon
May 02, 2014, 07:32:23 PM
Up until two weeks ago I hadn't picked up a balloon this year.  I was forced back into it when a friend that I owe big time asked my to do balloons at her daughters party. I have just spent a couple of hours making 16 parrots for my nephews party tomorrow and I think I might have the bug back. ;)

Balloon Chit Chat / Home Bargains Christmas balloons.
December 06, 2013, 09:01:29 PM
Saw these and couldn't resist buying a packet (I actually bought 3) at 89p for 10. I added a scarf and a base to the snowman but I'm not sure what to do with the Father Christmas, any ideas? It is easy to just inflate the head if that's any use.

My job (apart from balloons) is to buy a santa costume for about £50 for the school christmas fayre. I have looked on the internet and there are literally 100's. Can anyone recommend a supplier or a costume?

Thanks Kim

I used the head part from Justin Reams youtube tutorial for this. It uses three balloons and Justin uses just 3 balloons too for his version with a body.

So here is my first go, I had to use red for the jacket for now while I decide whether to use light blue balloons or use a real jacket as suggested by Lynae.

I am not happy with it and my husband and daughter thought it looked more like a donkey.

Any suggestions to make it look like a rabbit? Or does anyone know of a tutorial I could use or adapt.

Thanks

I have been asked to make a Peter Rabbit for a Christening. Has anyone ever made one before? Going to have a go at one this weekend and I will probably post for help and suggestions after I have had a go. Although I do need to decide whether or not to fill in the application for a new job at the weekend too, I need a new challenge but can I leave the job I have had for the last 9 years-- aaahhh. If I do decide to fill it Peter Rabbit may get postponed until next weekend.

Hi all

I am trying to find a photo of someone wearing car that I have seen quite recently. I think it may have been at a jam as there were other cars in the background. I have tried a search but nothing came up. Not really sure where I have seen it. Does any one know what I mean/ where I have seen it?

Thanks

Balloon Chit Chat / Should I buy Oodles of Lootles?
August 31, 2013, 08:15:18 AM
I have wanted this DVD for a while, probably since I started twisting but I have never found it in the UK until now. I was going to buy it but now I am wondering if I have gone past needing it. I have posted the last balloon person I made, what do you think?

Balloon Chit Chat / Two things I learned this week
July 25, 2013, 07:28:31 AM
1) made a balloon at a party that required me to break the balloon, it didn't break the first couple of times I tried so I quickly made a magic wand out of a 160 and gave it to the child. I asked them to tap the balloon 3 times and say a magic spell -and it worked. The child loved it and a magic wand was passed down the line to each child- I think I will use that one again.

2) it doesn't matter how many different models you know if all the boys want to be minions with swords that is what you are going to be doing for the rest of the party. On a plus point i managed a new design- a minion hat on the spot, it only takes a couple of minutes and uses 1 grey 260 and a scrap of 350 white for the eyeball.

This was for my first order. Only charged £5 as it was for a friend. Don't know how much I should charge if not for a friend, any suggestions?

Hi all

I sent my subscription in back in January and I haven't received anything yet. When I emailed to see if something had got lost the reply said the latest issue had just been mailed and to expect it in 10days max, but that was nearly a month ago. Has anyone received it? Just thought I would check before I email again.

Thanks Kim

Balloon Chit Chat / If you had £400.......
June 03, 2013, 12:05:02 PM
Hi All

If you had £400 to spend on balloons and related stuff, what would you buy/ spend it on?

Ps I don't have any insurance yet, not a member of anything and I only have handheld pumps, don't have a bag/apron and only have more hearts and rounds on dvd,  if that helps any or I may have actually answered my own question.

Picture Gallery / Messing around - first column
June 01, 2013, 05:18:16 PM
Had a go at a column with some help from Sonia. I think I would do a better alien if I did it again but I am pleased it worked out. I chose an alien one simply because I have more black and lime green balloons than any others.

Picture Gallery / More balloon therapy

Nothing new - just playing around with superhero's. Tried a 350 for batman's torso and I did prefer it both looks wise and I found it easier to work with.
