Picture Gallery / This little piggy...

Apparently I have been on a pig kick lately!

Here are some pigs I've made in the last month or so.

This is my favorite. Only two balloons, and with a little extra weight, it stands on its own

Trying different techniques.

Just stumbled upon this old reindeer that I made my mother at Christmastime. It's about 6 months old.

Have any old balloons lying around? Share pictures!

Balloon Chit Chat / Guest management?

Okay, here is a scenario that I'd like some view on.  You get to a party and you're going to make a balloon for every kid there. All the kids are clamoring for a balloon while your getting set up. Some of them are even already calling out requests.

You've gotta take control of the situation, how do you handle it?

How do you determine who goes first?

Lets say you pick someone to go first or early on, you make them something, and then later on they are dissatisfied with what they got because they saw something that someone else got and like that better. How do you handle that?

Any other situations that frequently arise?

Picture Gallery / Princesses
May 12, 2014, 03:08:59 PM
A Facebook group discussion raised the question of princesses and how fast it takes to make one. Sooo...what does your princess look like and about how long do you spend on each figure?

So, here is a rather standard princess. Three 260s, nothin out of the ordinary. I don't normally make this one, but I timed myself at 2 minutes making it.

This is the princess I normally make, so I'm fairly practiced at it. I already had my raisin pre stuffed, but this one took me just under 3 minutes.

Obviously it could be a lot fancier, and at many events I do her differently.

so, what does your average princess look like? How long do you spend making one at an average event?

Welcome / Hello from Seattle, WA, USA

Hi Everyone!
I'm Jami, and I twisted my first balloon in 2007. In the years since, I've gone to balloon conventions, quit my day job, rode my bicycle about 3000 miles with a Filbert Balloon pump strapped to the back, and have been doing balloons full time in Seattle for about 2 years now. Before Seattle, I was based in Chicago, IL.

In college, I never imagined that I'd do something like this. I always thought I'd be a lawyer or social worker, or some other normal thing. I love what I do now, and really don't miss working in a cubicle.

Hurray for balloons!
